We need to be aware at all times and think what we are doing to the earth and other humans, and how our actions might affect them. It feels fantastic to travel around the world, but just keep in mind that your deeds should not leave a negative impact on someone sitting in the other corner of the world. You may never meet those people who help you provide for your family needs. Still, you need to be a responsible citizen of the world, not just your nation.

In case you are alone, you can always rely on cabs or auto-rickshaws.
Walk around the city
Once you reach your destination, try to walk for as far as possible as it does not harm the environment in any sense. You can enjoy the weather if it is pleasant and explore the city better than you would do if you use the car. It lets you travel slow and talk more to the locals. You might want to ask for directions, or something interesting may catch your attention. Click a few photographs with the local people, and share the photos with them. If walking for too long is not possible, rent a bike or a car without using upgrades because the upgrades contribute to the carbon footprint.
Stay green at the Inn
If you are a conscious part of the earth and stay green at home, you can easily do it at the hotel as well. Just repeat your actions from home at the hotel, and you will find that you can maintain low carbon footprint in any corner of the world. Switch off the lights and electrical appliances when you do not need them, skip long durations of showers, and using less number of toiletries if possible.

You must extend the life of the products you use wherever possible. Get rid of your trash in a responsible method in a way that others can take an example from you.
Travel and staying green can go hand in hand as opposed to the myth that travelers spread filth wherever they go. Since our lives have become tenser than ever, we have to take a breather from the routine. However, it is essential to maintain an equilibrium in the environment. As much as we can understand, we must contribute our bit to save the earth. The entire tourism industry is anyhow dependent on natural beauty. That is why; staying green is more of a necessity now than being an obligation. If we do not add our efforts to those of others and the government, we will not have any tourism industry in the next few decades. We would not be able to blame anyone for the damage we have already inflicted on ourselves. It is better to become sensible in time.
