Pastel color palettes, romantic vibes dominated weddings for past few seasons. Trends come and depart and what is popular last year may not be trending for next couple of years. Sometimes avant-garde style becomes famous out of nowhere and in many cases old fashion makes a comeback. The wedding industry can’t remain untouched with interesting twists and new trends.

Let us see what 2018 is expecting to see in the upcoming wedding seasons.

Smaller weddings

Gigantic weddings with extravagant budgets will be a thing of the past. Smaller wedding celebrations are the way to go which allows spending more money on the celebration. In addition, it enables the host to choose the best wedding venue and vacation spot making the destination weddings perfect. Instead of feeding to hundreds or thousands of guests, people prefer to spending money on a beautiful vacation. It means, exploring a wonderful destination and having 15-20 nearest ones on your big day!

Décor

Dark and glamorous colors, like deep reds, plum purples, and rich golds are going to dominate wedding décor in 2018. Rather than mint green or pink, new neutral colors like dove grey and navy blue have revived. For other decors, rustic pieces, natural woods, floral prints, attractive spandex chairs covers, wild bouquets, glass vases, metallic accessories will dominate the wedding décor trends.

Food

Rather than sit down for a plated several course meal, people will choose buffets and food stations. They are great, especially in a destination, as they enable people to pick up their favorite food among many choices. Guests can mix and mingle the food, test sample dishes and walk around like a true foodie. Getting creative in the menu and providing delicious meal will be the responsibility of the host.

Fashion

White wedding dresses are the typical transitional outfit for a bride; however, when we go back to history this trend only became popular when Queen Victoria got married in 1840. She bucked the trend of wearing red to walk down the aisle. Now the trend of putting on colorful wedding dress has revived. Brides and grooms now prefer to show their individual personality and style by wearing something more elegant and simple than a white gown.

No matter what trends are in and out, your wedding should be a reflection of you and your partner. Do what you love and makes you unique as a couple. Don’t hesitate in coming up with new trends and ideas. Who knows it might become a new trend!
