The National Highways of India account for one of the most important assets of the country. With the officials looking over the progress of the ongoing projects under the supervision of Mr Akhilesh Srivastava, CGM (IT and Highway Operations) of NHAI, the future of the national highways in India looks brighter than ever. Mr Srivastava is a man of words and has proved his expertise time and again by executing some of the most important highway projects around the country. Regarded as the "One-time project delivery man of India", he is an officer who is known for his exceptional knowledge and skills.

Recently, Mr Srivastava has been awarded the Achievement Award in the Public Officer category of 10th Vishwakarma Awards conducted by the Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC). He was awarded for his contribution to the initiatives such as e-Tender, e-MB, Wayside Amenities Project, Electronic Toll Collection project and more. The event was held on 07th March 2018 at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi in two different sessions – morning and evening.

Apart from these, Mr Akhilesh Srivastava is currently working on two other projects. The Road Assets Management System (RAMS), and Traffic Incident Management System that is still in their budding stage. The former project is expected to protect the assets around the national highways that contribute to the overall outlook of the highways. Not just that, the Incident Management System is yet another project that is expected to streamline the traffic congestion and keep it in check for a smoother commute experience of highway users.

Mr Akhilesh Srivastava, who is the head of Highway Operations in India, has been working hard to tailor the best and latest technology in the ongoing highway projects to ensure real-time monitoring for a streamlined outcome. He is a man of belief and conviction, ensuring to enable transparency in the entire workflow of highway operations. He is working on several of the tech-enabled projects that are expected to make the overall highway infrastructure a lot better.

The introduction of drones and various other geospatial technologies is yet another aspect that Mr Srivastava is working on. According to him, the integration of these can augment the real-time monitoring process of the ongoing highway projects. Owing to the bright future of these projects, he has been encouraging the youth of India to take training on these through which the employment opportunities in these specific sectors can be improved.

Mr Akhilesh Srivastava has been cordially invited to the popular 4th Annual Roads and Highways Summit by the International Roads Federation of Geneva. He is going to be part of this occasion along with several other distinguished officers from the global construction industry. The event will be held from 09th April - 11th April 2018 at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel, Singapore. He is one of the panellists and going to speak on two distinct topics – first being the Chinese Government's initiative OBOR (One Belt One Road) and Highway Modernisation for Better Effectiveness and Sustainability.
