It is also the most linguistically diverse city, considering the fact that about 800 languages are spoken in New York. The origins of this city can be traced back to the 17th century when it was founded as a trading post by the Dutch colonists. Later, the city and its surrounding areas came under the control of the British and became the largest city in the United States of America ever since.

Winter from December to February is characterised by chilly temperatures, but this doesn’t stop tourists from visiting the city during Christmas and New Year. Spring arrives in the city during March and continues until May with a warmer weather and occasional showers. You’ll have to pack your rain boots and umbrella if you plan to visit during this season. The period from June to August is the hottest in this part of the United States with high temperatures and humidity levels.

As the city enjoys its autumn from September to November, your visit during this time of the year would truly be a pleasant one in the presence of a comfortable weather. This magnificent statue was built in the late 19th century and was a gift from France to the United States of America.

It is an excellent place in the city to escape the hustle-bustle of crowds and to spend some wonderful moments amidst natural surroundings. The park has several attractions within its boundaries, including the Central Park Zoo, Belvedere Castle, and Strawberry Fields. If you’re visiting this park during winter, you can enjoy skating across the Wollman Rink.

You’ll get the chance to explore over 2 million works of art upon visiting the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It is commonly known as ‘Met’ and was founded in the 19th century. An important portion of this museum is the Met Fifth Avenue. You can also explore another branch of Metropolitan Museum of Art called The Met Cloisters, which is located in northern Manhattan. It showcases the fabulous architecture of Europe and focuses more on the medieval art. The Empire State Building, 9/11 Memorial and Museum, Times Square, and Brooklyn Bridge are a few other famous attractions of New York that you can explore during your time spent in the city.
