People are often in search of places from where they can book their railway ticket. In this article, I will be discussing 5 easy ways, using which you can easily book your railway ticket.

1. IRCTC official website

If you want to book Indian railway tickets, the best place to do so would be the official IRCTC site. To book the ticket on this site, you will have to first register on their website and during this registration process, you will need to confirm your account using your cell phone. Due to this restriction, it sometimes becomes difficult for foreign nationals or NRIs to book tickets from this source. Anyhow, following a successful registration of your account, you will be able to book tickets by logging in.

2. PayPoint

PayPoint has been authorized by the Indian railways and the transportation department of different states to provide tickets to customers. With the help of this service, anyone can become a railway ticket agent and also a bus ticket booking agent. This makes this option one of the best for individuals who wish to book bus and railway ticket simultaneously. Whether you are looking for an MSRTC ticket booking agent or a railway ticket booking agent, a PayPoint is an ideal location.

3. Tatkal ticket

If you are in need of train tickets on an urgent basis then instead of booking a regular ticket, you should book a tatkal ticket. You can book a tatkal ticket from railway ticket agents like Paypoint or from the IRCTC. You can book your tatkal ticket a day prior to the journey; the ticket booking process starts at 10 am.

4. Book in person

If you are not satisfied with any of the above options, you can book your tickets by going to the railway ticket booking center in person. For this, you will have to find the nearest railway station. Upon finding one, you will have to get a reservation form and fill the details, such as date of the journey, train number, number of travelers, and so on. After submitting the form and paying for the ticket, you will have completed your ticket booking process.

5. For the unconfirmed tickets

If after booking your ticket from one of the above options, you are unable to get a confirmed ticket then the best option for you would be to wait till the charts get listed. There are chances of your tickets getting confirmed by then or at least there are chances of getting a reservation against cancellation (RAC) ticket.
