India has been traveling much more than ever. People have started exploring the entire nation apart from their neighborhood regions. Pune, the all-time favorite destination of the travelers, attracts maximum tourists during monsoon. Even though you may not find much to do in Pune, but the nearby places gain extensive beauty during rains. However, you need to do quite a bit planning to have a great time on your vacation.

Time in hand and Mode of travel

Depending on the time you have, you need to plan the best way of traveling to and from your destination. If you live too far from Pune, you can buy an airplane ticket much ahead in time to save some money. You can also take a Shatabdi train if you have a modest budget and some extra time. However, if you live within 500-600 kilometers from the city, hitting the road is the best way to reach. For inter-city travel, you can hire Self-Drive Cars in Pune, which will let you have the pleasure of driving on the Ghats.

Your interests

Talk to everyone in the group and ask about their interests and pursuits. It is better to travel with people who share the same hobbies and activities for everyone’s ease. You must analyze things like:

  • Adventure or recreation
  • Mountains or beaches
  • Rains or no rains
  • Urban settings or hamlets
  • Road trips or flying
  • Cultures and festivals
  • Food experimentation or shopping
  • Modest budget or luxury
  • You would never want to visit with a person with opposite interests; each one of you will bore the other to death. If you like to relax at the pool all day, you would never want to accompany someone who likes trekking on the hills. Discuss all of this in advance.

    Accommodation

Finding a perfect hotel or guest house is not difficult in the current times when we have Internet with us. You can look for the kind of accommodation you like online, look at the photos, read the reviews, and book it. If you plan to travel during peak season, it is better to book your hotel in advance. However, if you go to places around Pune during off-season, you can take a chance to find any hotel when you reach there. Many people like to be spontaneous when it comes to finding a hotel.

    Things to do

Places around Pune are a must-visit during monsoons. You can go to Mahabaleshwar, Mapro Garden in Panchgani, Table land, Tiger’s point, and Matheran. You will love to be at these places and trekking to various places, even if you do not do anything.

If you plan to go to places in Pune, you can visit Jangali Maharaj/Pataleshwar Temple, Someshvar wadi, Chatturshringi Temple, Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Temple, Shanivar wada, and Sarasbaug. You can visit the neighborhood places such as Shri Balaji Temple, Khadakwasla Dam, Singhgad fort, Lohgad Fort, Pawna Dam, Lonavala, Lavasa, and Adlabs Imagica.

Some of the destinations may require more than a day to visit, but they are worth a stay.

    Other things

If you are traveling with your family, you may want to have more kids-friendly things on the cards. You may not go for tough trekking, for example, if your children are too young or fussy. When you are going around with a bunch of friends, then again you have to take care of everyone’s preferences. Pack a good number of snacks in your bags to satisfy your cravings for munching on anything to avoid buying expensive and tasteless food, though you should experiment eating the local foods as well. In short, think of anything that comes to your mind and be prepared for it.
