The clothes are an important part of life because what you wear allows you to showcase your personality. There are different dress codes and if you want to make sure that you have the right clothes to wear them it is essential that you have some basic knowledge of the dress codes. If you are going to a formal meeting then you go wearing an American onesie.

The casual dress code has grown and evolved a lot over the years. The casual dressing code is further divided into different categories. Business and smart casual are some categories that the casual can be divided into.

There is not a lot of difference between the business and smart casual so it is important to go fully understand these dress codes to get them right.

Here are some main differences between the business casual and smart casual.

Business casual:

The relaxed version of the business attire is known as the business casual. The workplaces are not as strict about the dress code as they used to be and it has led to the conception of business casual attire. There is a fine line that separates the two dress codes. It is casual as compared to the traditional business clothes but it is more formal than the usual casual wear.

Men’s business casual:

You have the opportunity to wear khakis along with polo shirt. You can pair the khakis with collared shirts as well. Jeans is not adequate for the business casual dress code.

It is important that you make an effort to dress elegantly. Make sure that the shirts you wear are properly ironed because wrinkles just make you look sloppy. The pants should iron as well so that you have a sophisticated look.

Complete the business casual look by wearing loafers or dress shoes.

Women’s business casual:

A dress or khaki pant with a fashionable top is perfect for the business casual look. A casual skirt is an option and you can dress it up with the help of jewelry, heels, and other accessories. Keep the hair casual and makeup to a minimum.

Smart casual:

Smart casual is becoming a popular dress code. The key to perfect smart casual attire is to pick a pure business outfit and replace a few items with casual alternatives.

Smart casual for men:

It offers a great opportunity to wear denim and make it look smart by pairing it with a sports coat. If you are wearing denim then you need to make sure that the jeans you pick are smart, sharp and fresh. You can also choose trousers, khakis, and vests. Wearing ties with jeans and a dress shirt is also a good combination.

Smart casual for women:

Skirts or slacks are the safest options. Jeans is also an option but you need to choose dark colored jeans and to give it a formal touch pair it with a dressy top. Adding a blazer will add an extra touch of smartness and allow the outfit to hit the smart casual brief. Keep the accessories and makeup to a minimum.
