It was founded on 7th July 1995 by Sunil Mittal. Telenor (Communication)
Telenor (India) Communications had its HQ in New Delhi. The company was founded in the year 2009. From the year 2011 to 2016 this company earned as many as rewards and recognition. At its peak time, the company had gone to a huge growth launching a great some facilities to the people. But this company was also accused as guilty in 2G Spectrum Case and lost it license for a period. But in May 2018 Bharti Airtel acquired it as a subsidiary. From then, Airtel is carrying on this business. In Bihar Andhra Pradesh, Assam Airtel has acquired 43.4 MHz spectrum of the company in the 1800MHz band. Bharti Airtel has acquired 26.1 per cent market share and a subscriber base of 258 million.
Qualcomm AP’s India
Bharti Airtel Limited and Qualcomm were incorporated with the world leader in 3G and next-gen mobile technologies by May 2012. They have signed an agreement for Bharti to acquire an interest in Qualcomm Asia Pacific’s Indian BWA entities. Bharti Airtel had made an initial investment of almost USD 165 million and acquired 49 percent interest in Qualcomm AP’s India. This company holds BWA licenses in Delhi, Mumbai, Haryana, and Kerala. The agreement observed that once commercial operations are initiated, Bharti would grab complete ownership and financial duties for the BWA entities by the end of 2014. That happened and made the 3G and 4g battle harder.
Videocon Telecommunications
Videocon Telecommunications Limited was an Indian mobile and DTH service provider that offered mobile network services and DTH Services in India under the brand name of Videocon. The company had HQ at Gurgaon. Videocon first launched its services in the year 2010 in Mumbai. Videocon started commercial services in 11 out of the 18 licensed circles. In 2G Spectrum Case, the Supreme Court cancelled its License due to infringement of the law. In 2012, Videocon got his license back. On 16 March 2016, Videocon was sold to Bharti Airtel in all six circles, it used to operate in. Videocondid fraud spectrum in Orissa circle and for that Airtel took over 1.2 Mhz airwaves worth around Rs 38 crore. India’s No. 1 telecommunication had entered into a trading deal with Videocon to buy its airwaves in 1800 Mhz band in the circles of Bihar, Gujarat, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, UP (East) and UP (West) for Rs 4,428 crore.
Aircel Dishnet Wireless
Aircel DishnetWireless Ltd is a company which was incorporated in the year 1999. It is having its registered office in Gurgaon Haryana. But due to enormous porting of numbers in some selected locations like Gujarat, Maharashtra, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh (West) it was facing a great loss. So, this Company had decided to merge with Aircel after failing to merge with Reliance. In November 2017, Bharti Airtel has taken over the company ‘Aircel Dishnet Wireless’. Bharti Airtel has acquired up to 20% equity stake in Bharti Telecom Limited of the DTH arm of Airtel for around 350 million dollars. Of this stake 15% has been sold by Bharti Airtel and 5% will be sold to some other Bharti Entity.
Tikona Digital Networks
India’s giant telecom industry Bharti Airtel has acquired Tikona Digital Networks and its share capital. Airtel acquired Tikona Digital Networks on March 2017. Airtel has bought it for Rs. 1600 crore. It has captured the 4G business of Tikona including the Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) spectrum. This business will run in Gujrat, Uttar Pradesh (East and West), and Himachal Pradesh.
