Time Warner Cable has been acquired by Charter completely. Now many questions have started arising in the minds of everyone that what changes will they see and when. Whether they will be able to use their old email accounts or not. Read the article and know what company has to say about the upcoming changes.
Charter communications has complete its buying process of Time Warner Cable, a merger that will give the company a stronghold in Ohio, where Time Warner Cable has 2.13 million customers including 630000 in southern Ohio.
Charter intends to phase out the Time Warner Cable name and instead it need to market its products and services under the Spectrum brand.
The Chief Executive of Charter Tom Rutledge said in a statement that Current Time Warner Cable and Bright House Network customers will not see much changes right away. Though in the near future they will hear a lot about Spectrum brand from the company.
A charter Spokesman said that the company will switch its billing system and make other changes, but these rolls are expected to take almost a year time. The customers in the Dayton area will see changes right away. Their bills and the company’s source vehicle will have the logo of Time Warner until the making of all the changes. He also said that the company is planning to make all the Time Warner markets to digital, a process that could take up to almost 18 months. Once a digital conversation is complete, then the products will be introduced by Charter in that market. The customers in the Dayton area will start changing to an all-digital format earlier this year.
The people of Miami Valley will be allowed to keep their current Time Warner package if they want after the launch of Charter packages. The company is also planning to grow work forces in the market of Time Warner Cable taken over by the company and bring back the call center jobs that was sent overseas by Time Warner Cable.
There are many questions related to the merger of Charter and Time Warner Cable but the one thing that we all want to know is what will happen to current subscribers @hawaii.rr.com email accounts? When the customer service line of charter was contacted, they had no idea about this at all except that the customers will not see any changes for another year. They also said that customers will receive updates in their bills as well as automated phone call about the changes before they will occur.
When we tried to find out we get to know that when Time Warner Cable acquired Road Runner, it allowed the customers to keep their@hawaii.rr.com email domain while all new customers received the email domain @twc.com. When logging into the email server provided by TWC, it is clear that the username requires your entire email address to account for the email domains. So, in conclusion it looks like @hawaii.rr.com and @twc.com customers for that matter will get to keep their old email accounts.
Charter has been the growing company for the past four years adding 7000 employees. Now with this acquisition the company now will have more than 90000 employees. The company is the nation’s second largest broadband provider, behind Comcast and the third largest pay-TV distributer behind AT & T and Comcast.
Charter has also acquired Bright House, which serves more than 2 million customers. The company paid about $11.4 billion for Bright House.
