Posted: Jul 30, 2018
Define SAP HANA Modelling?
SAP HANA Modelling is defined as an activity through which the user makes an information view, SAP HANA Modelling is very close in similarity to dimension, cube or BW information provider. By using the information view, a multi-dimensional data model is developed.
SAP HANA Modelling is referred to as an activity through which the user creates the information view. Information View is same as cube, dimension or information provider of BW. This information view is utilized for the purpose of creating the multi-dimensional data model.
Overview of Modelling in SAP HANAThe user is able to cut data in a table of data, or even refine it as per the needs of the user through modelling. All of this is done by making an information view which is structured on the scenario of business. These views of information are applicable for doing reporting and decision making.
Various combinations of the data content are utilized for creating an information view for a business scenario model.Listed below are the two types of Content Data in the information view. These are as follows:
1.Measure: All the data can be calculated and quantified at Stechies. For instance, the amount sold, revenue, counters, etc. The user cannot create measure in the attribute view.
2.Attribute: This is descriptive and non-measurable data. For instance vendor name, vendor id, city name are all the attributes.
SAP HANA Modelling of AttributeListed below are the types of attribute which are supported by SAP HANA:
Simple Attribute: This is an attribute which is got from data foundation.
Calculated Attribute: This is an attribute which is got from one or more constants and attributes which are already pre-existing. For instance, the arithmetic calculation or deriving the complete name of a vendor from the first name as well as the last name.
Local Attribute: This is an attribute which is used in the analytical view and the calculation view (modelling views) for customizing the behavior of the attributes. Thus, this is local to modelling view and this cannot be accessed from anywhere external to the modelling view.
SAP HANA Modelling MeasureSAP HANA supports the following four types of measures: They are:
Simple Measure: This is a set of methods which is derived from the data foundation.
Calculated Measure: This is known as set of methods which is got from one or more of the constants or measures and functions which are already pre-existing.
For instance: the arithmetic calculation is a calculated measure.
Restricted Measure: The Restricted Measure is a set of methods which is used for filtering the values which are based on user defined rules for other attribute values.
Counter: Counter is a special type in the columns which is used for showing in a unique number for the attribute columns (calculation view or analytical view) and is used for keeping a track of one or more of the columns used for attributes.
Types of Information Views in SAP HANA Modelling
The three types of Information Views also, and these have been listed below:Attribute View: is used for the context of master data.
Analytic View: is used for making fact tables which are not dissimilar from that of Cube of BW.
Calculation View: is used for creating a complex view which is similar to multiple Provide in BW.
