A strong economy, beautiful blend of modern and traditional cultures, and diversity are some of the main reasons that have made the United Arab Emirates (UAE) a perfect destination for expats. The majority of expats residing in the UAE are Brits, Canadians, Indians, and Americans. Within the past few years, the UAE has mapped itself as a leading cosmopolitan hub in the world. The UAE has one of the highest net migration rates in the world. Out of all other foreign nationals, the population of Brit expats have been increased significantly. There are various reasons behind this population shift such as excellent job prospects and higher salaries, peerless lifestyle, and exceptionally large and diverse expat community. Now if you are one of those fortunate who are enjoying working in this flourishing economy and are now planning to call your families here, then all you have to do is sponsor their visa. If your children are studying in college, then you can also sponsor their student visa. Now let’s discuss the Dubai student visa and certificate attestation in Dubai in detail.

Types of Dubai Student Visa

How to apply for student visa in Dubai?

1. One can only apply for the student visa for Dubai if they have accepted the admission offer letter from the university and have paid the fees. The procedure for Dubai student visa is as follows:

  1. Fill the visa application form and affix your recent colored, passport size photograph in it. Please read the UAE government mandated specification regarding the photograph used in visa application.
  1. Go through the checklist and attach all the required and supporting documents with the application. Fill your application form completely, incomplete information may lead to rejection of visa application.
  2. Submit the documents at the Dubai visa application centre along with the required fee.
  3. A PNR will be updated once the visa application is approved by the UAE government. The visa can later be collected from the same agency.

Before submitting the documents for student visa, make sure that they are attested otherwise they will be rejected. All UK originated documents seeking legalization in Dubai require attestation. If you are wondering how to attest UK documents in Dubai, then below I have provided the detailed procedure for the same.

First of all, your documents will be sent back to the UK for attestation. A document can only be attested by the issuing authority of its home country. Applicants can either attest their documents themselves, or they can hire an agency for easing the whole burden. In the UK, firstly the documents will be attested by the Notary Public in UK, or by the British Council in Dubai. Only original documents can be attested by the Notary Public and further governmental authorities. Afterwards, the document will be attested by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, UK. The last authority who will attest the document in the UK is the Embassy of UAE. Once your document is authenticated by all these governmental bodies, then it will send back to the UAE for Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) attestation. After the attestation, your documents will be valid for use in Dubai and UAE.
