Beaches are, by far, the most convenient and most accessible vacation spots of all time. Mountains are cold and physically taxing, forests are for the more patient travelers, but a beach, with its equable climate and sea level weather is a delight for tourists throughout the year. From the most popular beaches in the world like the Polignano e Mare in Italy and Scheveningen in Netherlands, to the solitary serene getaways of island beaches, like the Eagle Beach, Aruba in the Carribean, the Baia do Sancho in Brazil, or even the Radhanagar Beach in the Andaman Islands, India; from rocky to sandy and further, from white to black to pink, there are a vast variety of destinations to choose from for the tourist keen on beaches, and what they have to offer as primary vacation spots.

1. Venture out

As we all know, beaches are the most convenient to visit of all geographical terrain. If you are into travelling and live somewhat close to the sea, chances are that you have visited the beach destination closest to your home multiple times, even if it is more than a few hundred kilometers away. In that case, you should be advised to venture out of your home board- the best flight deals to different parts of the world exist to convince you that a trip to the beach can be, and is, more than a couple of days of weekend frolicking.

2. Reflection and self-discovery

While beaches may have a lot of fun local stuff to do, we must not forget one of the most important reasons as to why the beach, irrespective of how exotic it may be, appeals to us on a fundamental level. The sheer feeling of standing in front of the vast blue ocean, the humbling feeling of insignificance as a mere human being in such a naturally diverse world- this is an essential interior monologue that runs in our heads. This gives us a deeper understanding and a wider perspective into our one life and its many troubles. This is a key moment in our mental peace and must not be glossed over in our search for fun.

3. Fun and frolic

Having covered the previous point, it is safe to say that the beach is the ultimate place for the grandest party. A location with a well-developed tourist industry, will have great restaurants, and recognized pubs and bars in place for the entertainment and hospitality of its guests. With the roar of the sea a constant in he background, these local venues can be a great place to unwind from the daily monotony which we seek to escape. The numerous beach holiday packages available may often involve living arrangements in these fine establishments.

4. Watersports

Various kinds of adventure sports are available around beach destinations. Parasailing, kayaking, sailing and surfing are all dynamic experiences in the sea; whereas underwater sea diving, scuba diving, snorkeling provides a truly memorable look into the plethora of life underneath the vast blue ocean.

5. Local culture

Travelling overseas may often entail close contact with a different culture with its own native language. A beach destination away from home often can involve dabbling into this different culture which contributes a lot to one’s enrichment of self.

6. Sunsets and full moons

Clichéd as it may sound, sunsets on sea shores are a thing to behold. If anything beats the view, it is the reflection of the full moon on the sea, flickering due to the motion of the waves. Added to this is the element of slight danger as the high tide moves the sea into a frenzy and the roaring and breaking of the waves increase a considerable extent, providing the sneakiest peek into what a storm in the sea would look like.

A beach is geographically defined as comprising of loose particles alongside a body of water, periodically taken away and brought back by the waves of the sea. Us, too, as tourists, experience a something similar. Brought in by the waves, we must make the most of our days here for they are limited and numbered, as we are fated to go back to our daily life and our very own sea of troubles.
