When it comes to your skin breaking out with acne, fast and effective remedies is a must. After all, you do not want to be walking around with acne for a long time because it makes you self-conscious leading to lower self-esteem. But sometimes, acne medications can be rough especially if you have sensitive skin. Trying out natural remedies may help your skin problem because they do not involve chemicals that can be harsh to your skin. In case of acne, here are some natural remedies that you can try to get rid of it effectively:
Cucumber
Cucumber is always a staple when it comes to facial and skin care. It is rich in different nutrients which include vitamins A, C, and E and these nutrients help acne prevention and healing. If used regularly, cucumber can prevent oily skin and acne breakouts. You can apply a sliced cucumber in the affected area of your skin and let it sit there for about 20 minutes before washing your face.
Toothpaste
When you apply toothpaste directly on your acne, the toothpaste will absorb the excess oil and dry up the pimple. This is a very effective home remedy for those with blackheads or whiteheads. Before applying toothpaste on your skin, apply an ice pack on the affected area in order to soothe your pores. Let the toothpaste stay for at least 30 minutes before rinsing them out.
Lemon juice
Lemon is rich in vitamin C plus it has acidic properties that can fight off the bacteria that causes acne. So, when it comes to using lemon as an acne home remedy, it is best to use fresh, natural lemon juice. Dip a clean cotton swab in the juice and apply it to the affected areas of your skin before you go to bed and let it stay overnight. When you wake up the following morning, wash it off with lukewarm water.
Green tea
Green tea has a strong anti-microbial property that can help heal acne faster. It also comes with the added benefit of slowing down premature skin aging. All you have to do is to lay a cooled bag of green tea on the affected area. You can also simply use a cooled cup of green tea for your facial wash.
CBD oil
Cannabinoid oil can help reduce the appearance of acne and prevents acne from growing back because of its natural anti-inflammatory properties. CBD only targets the problematic cells, which is important since conventional acne medications target even the healthy cells. Targeting the healthy cells leave your skin dry and irritated. The most common way to take CBD oil for acne is in topical form such as lotion or cream which you can use in your daily skin care routine. Mint
A common cause of acne is clogged pores. Mint can help remove the pore-clogging oil. Mint has salicylic acid which helps loosen dead skin cells. To use it as a remedy, crush mint leaves and add just the right amount of honey until a paste is formed. Apply on the affected area and leave it on for about 20 minutes. Rinse off with warm water and use your usual moisturizer right after.
