Hence, follow a complete DIY guide to changing flats –

  • Spare tyres
  • Wrench

Consider safety –

Use metal wheel chocks or bricks to block the wheels at the other end of your vehicle, from the one that requires to be raised.

[Note: Make sure never to change a tyre or an incline or hill; instead, do it on a flat surface.]

The process –

I. The first step involves removing the wheel cover & nuts –

Read your owner's manual thoroughly to find the correct places to place the jack for your vehicle. These jacking points are usually placed in the underside of the car and are marked by small notches or grooves.

Once you place the jack in its place, remove the wheel cover to loosen its nuts with your wrench.

II. Removing the flat tyre –

III. Tyre fitting -

For fitting your new car tyres, create a line horizontally with the bolt holes on the spare wheel and wheel studs on your car.

Once you find the correct measurements, place this tyre over the studs and tighten the wheel nuts by hand. Begin from the bottom & use a wheel brace to tighten the nuts to a minimal point.

Once the car is ready and lowered to the ground, further tighten its wheel nuts correctly, and voila! You're done replacing your old tyres.

IV. Lowering the vehicle to ground level –

To make sure your new tyre and wheel can take the weight of your car, turn the handle gently for lowering the jack. Now, look for a weaker finish in your wheel cover. If found, then go through your car manual go find ways to replace it.

PS - make sure to cushion your hand while following these above procedures to prevent chances of injuring your hand.
