Known as the name of ‘God’s own country Kerala is famous for its tranquil backwaters, gorgeous Western Ghats, lush green tea gardens, serene lakes and beautiful mountains. Nadamel Marth Mariam Church, Kochi

Located in Kochi, Nadamel Marth Mariam Church is one of the notable tourist attractions in Kerala. Located at the outskirt area of Kochi, Nadamel Church was taken care by Cochin Royal Family and is one of the popular names in the list of Jacobite churches in Kerala. There was a tradition followed by Royal family that whenever a successor comes to the Royal Family, he would offer a thing known as Sharkara Thattu veypu at the church and he will meet all bishops and leaders.

Santa Cruz Basilica, Kochi

One of the most visited churches in Kerala and one amongst 8 Basilicas, Santa Cruz Basiclica is a gorgeous Church located in Fort Kochi. The Church was built 500 years ago by Portuguese Rulers in the Gothic architecture and it is known for historical paintings, murals, and frescos. The church was built and vanished many times but the present structure was built in 1905.

St. Francis Church, Kochi

Built in 1503, St Francis Church is regarded as the first Christian Church in Kerala and one of the most famous tourist attractions in Kerala. It is said that Vasco Da Gama was buried here in 1524 and later after 14 years the remains were relocated to the Lisbon, Portugal. A cenotaph is also built in the honour of Kerala People who lost their lives in First World War.

Lourdes Forane Church, Trivandrum

Located in Trivandrum, Lourdes Forane Church is famous for its overwhelming elegance and serenity. The church looks more beautiful inside with its interior woodwork, arches, and paintings. This gorgeous interior enhances the charm of the interior.

St. George Church, Ernakulam

Established in 1905 by St. Gregorios of Parumala, St George Church is one of the popular names in the list of Churches in Kochi. Shrines such as Pulicamaly, sacred remnants of Manjanikkara Bava, and divine Girdle of Mother Mary attract admirers and Christian devotees from all over India.

Pallikunnu Church, Wayanad

Located in Meenangadi region of Wayanad, Pallikunnu Church is a beautiful Pallikunnu Church which was constructed in the name of ‘Our Lady of Lourdes’. The Church was built in 1908 by priest Fr. Jefreno and it is considered as one of the most famous Churches in Kerala.

Arthunkal Church, Alappuzha

Situated around 22 km from Alappuzha, the St. Andrews Basilica or Arthunkal Church is one of the most popular sights in Kerala. Built by Portuguese missionaries in the 16th century, this Church acclaims the biggest Shrine of St Sebastian in the world; hence the locals call it St. Sebastian Church. Declared basilica in 2010, this Arthunkal Church attracts a large number of Christian and Non-Christian devotees every year.

Vimalagiri Church, Kottayam

Dedicated to Mother Mary, Vimalagiri Church is one of the famous churches in Kerala. This Church is the tallest Church in the state with the enormous height of 172 feet. Also popular with the name of Angathattu Palli, this Church is made in beautiful Gothic style architecture.
