VITEEE Cut off 2019

Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) is conducting VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) 2019 for the admissions to the multiple streams of B.Tech programs offered across its various campuses at Vellore, Chennai, Bhopal, and Amravati.

VIT Engineering Entrance Examination will most probably be held on in 2nd or 3rd week of April 2019 through computer-based (online) mode. VIT application form is already available on the university from November 1, 2018.

It’s advised for candidates to go through the eligibility criteria carefully before registering because invalid or ineligible applications would be rejected by the authorities. Slot booking process of the aspirants need to be completed by candidates by March 2019 after which they can access their VITEEE 2019 admit card.

What’s a Slot Booking Process?

Vellore Institute of Technology, earlier VIT University will start VITEEE 2019 slot booking from the 3rd week of March 2019. The candidates who have registered successfully for the VITEEE 2019 can book their slot for VITEEE 2019 by logging into the Online Test Booking System (OTBS) of the institute. They have to give the details of the VITEEE 2019 application form number and password. Then only, the candidates can opt for slot booking of VITEEE 2019 process and book the slot as per their preference and choice. After the successful completion of slot booking for VITEEE 2019, candidates will go for the downloading of the hall ticket for VITEEE 2019 exam. If the candidate fails to book his or her slot, then the institute will provide the slot to the particular candidate.

What’s VITEEE Cut Off?

VIT University doesn’t release any official cut off. However, it considers the closing rank for the admission. VITEEE closing rank will be announced only after the declaration of the result. The rank is awarded to the candidates on the basis of the marks scored by the candidate in the exam.

The rank of the candidates will decide his or her admission to the branches of engineering at its two campuses located at Chennai and Vellore. Candidates have to find themselves in the specified VITEEE cut off the range to be able to secure admission.

Every year nearly 2 lakh candidates register for the VIT engineering entrance exam for the admission to more than 5,000 seats available in 14 UG engineering streams (B.Tech) in Chennai and Vellore campus of VIT University.

The VIT University uses the Equating Method to predict the ranks of the candidates in VITEEE. VIT will calculate the percentile rank of the aspirant on the basis of his or her performance in the exam

Calculation of VITEEE Cut off
  • An equating method is used to calculate the rank of the aspirant.
  • The candidates securing equal percentile in the different test forms will be considered the same rank.
  • The score obtained in different slots with the same percentile are considered of the same rank.
  • VITEEE Cut off won’t be applicable for the qualifying marks which decide the clearing of the exam.
  • VIT forms a panel for the admission and counseling of students. This expert panel decides VITEEE cut off taking various factors into consideration such as the number of received applications, the number of students actually appeared in the exam, the number of seats which are available for a particular course and the average performance of the candidates in the entrance exam.
