Kimberley cruise deals are a great way to see this amazing region, but if you’re new to cruising, you don’t want to risk ruining your break by forgetting something vital. So, before you confirm any cruise details, make sure you familiarise yourself with these essentials that need to be in your suitcase.

Adapters & Chargers

These days, most of us can’t survive without our smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices, so be sure to pack all your adapters and chargers. If you’re travelling from outside of Australia, you may need a power adapter or converter.

Plasters

Unless you plan to spend your Kimberley cruises sunbathing on deck, you need to be prepared for lots of walking. There is so much to see and do; you want to ensure that sore feet don’t ruin your trip. Even if you have well broken in shoes, they can start to feel rough after several days of walking tours. So, prepare for the odd blister with some plasters. Put a pack in your suitcase, but be sure to carry one or two in your day bag, so you can give your feet a little attention if they start to feel sore.

Passport and Paperwork

Regardless of the cruise deals, you’re going to need your passport and some paperwork, so you need to be prepared. It is also a good idea to keep copies of your ID for added security in a separate location with your travel insurance policy. It is also a good idea to have a note of your important contact details. Even if you have your phone numbers stored on your smartphone, in the event that your battery is dead or your phone gets damaged, having a hard copy of emergency contacts could be invaluable.

Medications

Other than over the counter items that you’re likely to find during some shore excursions, medications can be challenging to find. So, if you take any medication, regardless of whether it is prescription or a vitamin supplement, if it is a good idea to pack enough to last throughout your cruise. If you want to be completely confident, pack an extra day or two in case there are any delays or issues. Remember that if you are prone to seasickness, bring a supply of medication, so you can enjoy your cruise.

Cardigan or Sweater

Even in the Kimberley, you may get hit with an unexpected bit of chilly air. So, while shorts and t-shirts may be sufficient for most of your cruise, you may regret not packing a cardigan or sweater. In fact, it is also a good idea to pack some lightweight long sleeved items to protect your arms and shoulders in the warmest parts of the day.
