Students, throughout all the years of study, have to write various essays and college papers. These tasks are set by the teacher as a test of knowledge. And, accordingly, on how well this paper will be written and the score will depend.

Students have different attitudes toward similar tasks. Some try to write themselves, but they do not get it (due to various reasons). Others simply do not want to bother with this. And then they, basically, search and download the necessary paper from the Internet.

But I do not advise it. Since your teacher knows perfectly well what plagiarism is and will understand where you got this job.

Today I am as one of the essay writers online at 500WordEssay.org, I want to help you and tell you a little about how to write narrative essay.

What Is Narrative Essay

Let's start with the narrative essay definition

  • a narrative essay is a fiction or nonfiction essay used to tell the story or incident as seen by the eyes of a single character.

To sharpen your skills when writing a narrative essay you can read narrative work of other authors like novels, memoirs or short stories because it can tell you how narration works. There are also simple rules you can follow to make your narrative essay better.

  • Making a Point
  • While writing a narrative essay, the first thing you do is to decide a purpose for it without worrying about the length of the essay. Your purpose doesn’t have to be moral or something that will be liked by the readers. But make sure you don’t describe a scene with dialogues and action but no conflict. Your essay should contain a conflict and outcome.

You must decide what the conflict is going to be beforehand and it could be something happening to the narrator or struggle in his mind. Reread your essay to look for the natural story arc and a clean end.

  • First Person
  • When you begin your narrative essay, do it as a first person. You can change it into the third person when you are done.

So start by writing "I watched the sunset" instead of "She watched the sunset." This way you can feel a greater connection with the character and you can take benefit of all the new ideas, thoughts and descriptions that you might have missed writing in third person.

  • Dialogged
  • You must use dialogs in your narrative essay to show the readers what the narrator is feeling. Use the natural way the narrator speaks while writing the dialogs.

For instance, you can write "'Gonna rain tonight," he said instead of "He told me that it was going to rain tonight".

  • Action Verbs
  • Use Action verbs instead of state-of-being verbs like is, am, was, were and are. Adjective and adverbs must be used sparingly because they can easily be overused. Use action verbs to describe instead of just telling them what’s happening.

For example instead of "Susan was tired during class." You can use the action verb "yawn" to describe how tired Susan was as in, "Susan yawned during class".

While writing a narrative essay you must first decide what the purpose of your essay is going to be. Every essay must have an issue and an outcome. Write your narrative essay in the first person to describe things better and later change it into the third person.

Use dialogs to show what the narrator is feeling and don’t be stingy in the use of action verbs because they can best describe a scene.
