Artificial Intelligence is transforming our perception of the world. AI is influencing everyone, actually, we are in an ecosystem where Machine Learning based devices and gadgets have become an integral part. Most of the major companies like Netflix, Google, all are using AI to work on a large volume of information. Today, I’ll tell you about an important form of Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing. Basically, it emphasizes investigating human languages to represent insights, make advertisements and so forth.

Why We Require Natural Language Processing?

NLP is one of the growing technologies that push many AI technologies we have been acquainted with, in recent years. The reason we are focussing more on this technology is that it is the best AI form available to deal with math-based algorithms.

How Does Natural Language Processing Work?

Natural Language processing is a crucial form of AI that examines the human language. It works on multiple forms but at its center, this technology enables machines to understand, and even talk with humans. Working with NLP is not the simplest task because it’s really difficult to understand this language. It’s the most advanced and modern form of AI that becomes crucial in recent days.

The first step in NLP completely relies on the application of the system. Voice-based systems like Siri, Google Assistant, or Alexa require to decipher words into text using hidden Markov Models System working behind their mechanisms. This model uses math to define what you have spoken and as per your words, it translates your spoken words into text which can then be used by the NLP system. HMM receives your 10-20 millisecond clip of the speech and then search for its smallest unit to match it with the speech recorded earlier.

Then we come to the real understanding of the language and its meaning. Every NLP system use different methods, but at last, they all are same, The system tries to divide every word as per its part of speech like a noun, verb, etc. This thing works according to a series of rules (English grammar) that depends on certain algorithms that consist of statistical machine learning data to define the meaning of the words you said.

Human’s have been writing things down for thousands of years. Over that time, our brain has gained a tremendous amount of experience in understanding natural language. When we read something written on a piece of paper or in a blog post on the internet, we understand what that thing really means in the real-world. We feel the emotions that reading that thing elicits and we often visualise how that thing would look in real life.

If we are not going as per speech to text NLP, the system leaves the first option and directly examines the words by using the same algorithm and grammatical rules. The outcome is the way to classify what is being spoken in different ways. As per the focus of the NLP software, the end result can be utilized in different manners.
