Enjoy Fabulous Experiences with Cheap Holidays to Cambodia
Posted: Jan 21, 2019
Located in Southeast Asia, Cambodia is gradually gaining popularity among tourists today owing to its rich cultural heritage and an intriguing history. It is a country that has managed to maintain a good balance between tradition and modernity. This is evident from many of the old temples that still exist amidst the modern high-rises. While getting around in the country, you'll also come across some beautiful natural surroundings. The Cambodian cities would not only allow you to explore elegant restaurants and cafes but also give you the chance to witness their cultural attractions.
The best time to enjoy your holidays to Cambodia would be during the months of January and February when the weather is highly pleasant and characterised by lesser rains and comfortable daytime temperatures. However, the climate turns hot and humid in the months of March and April. As a result, many of the tourists find this time of the year quite uncomfortable to enjoy sightseeing and other activities outdoors. It would also be quite difficult to venture outdoors between late May and early part of June with the arrival of monsoon. Although there are occasional rains between July and November, you can embark on a trip to the paddy fields and explore some of the popular attractions.
If there's one particular attraction you can't afford to miss during your cheap holidays to Cambodia, it would be Angkor Wat. This temple is the largest religious monument in the world and is dedicated to Vishnu, one of the three major Hindu deities. Built during the reign of the Khmer Empire, the temple is spread across a vast area. Prasat Preah Vihear is yet another fascinating temple worth visiting during your time spent in the Asian country. It was built as a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, but was converted to a Buddhist site when Hinduism declined and was followed by the rise of Buddhism.
A visit to the Angkor Archaeological Park located close to the historic temple of Angkor Wat during your holidays to Cambodia would give you the opportunity to enjoy the zip line adventures. With expert guides and modern equipment, indulging in this activity would give you some thrilling experiences. Quad biking is yet another exciting activity you can try while holidaying in this country. It is offered by the local tour operators in Siem Reap and can be enjoyed after an initial practice session conducted with the help of quad biking instructors. You can embark on a trekking expedition in the Ratanakiri province, which allows you to witness the enchanting natural beauty of Ban Lung.
Your time spent in Cambodia would also give you the opportunity to taste some mouth-watering treats of the local cuisine. One of them is Fish Amok, which is the national dish and made using white fish, coconut milk, and a curry paste made using galangal, lemongrass, shallots, garlic, turmeric, and chilli. Another fabulous dish you can try is Bai Sach Chrouk prepared using grilled pork, coconut milk, garlic, and soy. You can also try a noodle soup known as Kuy Teav.
