Every year, Antalya delights tourists with its charming beaches, beautiful marina, and palm-lined boulevards. This Turkish city has the magnificent Taurus Mountains on its borders, which gives you ample opportunities to indulge in some exciting adventures. It was founded in the 2nd century BC by a king of the ancient Greek city of Pergamon known as Attalus II. Although the history of this city goes back to the Hellenistic period, many of the historic structures you'll get to explore while holidaying in this part of the world belong to the Ottoman era.

You can enjoy cheap Antalya holidays if you visit the city during the period between September and mid-December. This is the time when there are lesser tourist crowds and you can grab some attractive deals on hotel accommodations. Winter arrives in the month of January and continues until March with moderate to heavy rainfall and a cool climate. If you plan your holidays for the summer season, you'll have to withstand an extremely hot climate and high humidity levels. However, despite the unpleasant summers, many tourists continue to visit the city and this makes it impossible to get the best deals on hotel stays.

During your Antalya holidays, you'll get the chance to explore some of the popular attractions of the city. Among them is the Old Town, also known among the locals as Kaleici. While taking a walk on the cobblestone streets of the old town, you can witness some impressive mansions that were built during the reign of the Ottoman Empire. You'll also find some boutique hotels, restaurants, art galleries, and souvenir shops in this part of the city. While visiting the Old Harbour, you'll find some impressive bazaars and cafes. You'll also be delighted to watch the yachts bobbing on the Mediterranean Sea. A visit to Antalya Museum would give you some interesting insights into the history of the country.

While enjoying your cheap Antalya holidays, you can also savour some thrilling outdoor activities. One of them would be a 7-hour trip to Duden Waterfalls and several other interesting places. Quad-biking tours in the desert areas are also worth trying, as they give you the excitement of riding through difficult terrains while enjoying the fabulous views of the countryside. You can also get to the Taurus Mountains and be in the villages that are not often explored by the tourists with the help of Jeep safaris.

The holidays to this Turkish city also give you plenty of opportunities to relish the mouth-watering dishes of Turkey. One of the most popular is the Turkish kebab, which is prepared either in ovens heated by wood or on barbeques. The kebabs are made using mutton, lamb, or beef for meat and are commonly eaten in Antalya and other Turkish cities. Doner Kebab is another variety of kebab, which is usually prepared using beef along with some aromatic spices of the region. However, chicken or lamb is also used on certain occasions instead of beef. For soups, you can try the lentil soup called 'Mercimek'.
