Why to Be a Local Traveler in Your Town
Posted: Feb 01, 2019
A vacation to a far-flung place is everyone’s dream, but it is not possible every time because of many constraints. You may not have time or money to make up for a distant vacation every month. Moreover, it takes a lot of energy and courage to be so active to keep traveling frequently. Even though the concept of being a local traveler is quite old, it has gained new momentum over the internet. You just need to explore your own town or the places situated at a distance of only 1-2 hours from your home. No matter you live in a metropolitan or a small city in India, you are blessed to be there in a beautiful country. Look deeper and you will definitely find something to cherish within the vicinity of your home.
Benefits of traveling in your city
Cost-effective
The best thing about local travel is that you can save a lot on transportation and accommodation. If you are in Mumbai, for example, you can use public transport or local trains, your own car, cabs, or even book Self Driven Car in Mumbai. In the Indian metropolitans, there is no dearth of options for transportation. Even in small towns, you can get enough means of transportation to reach your destination.
You can also save a lot of money on expensive hotels since you are out there just for a day out. Even a night out means that you can come home any time you want, but you don’t have to pay for spending a night somewhere in a new city. What’s more? You can also plan a stayover at a friend’s place if you want to bring some change. It will give you great quality time to spend and also make your day better. Doesn’t it save significant money? You can use this money saved later on your long vacations.
Less planning
You just need to get ready in a decent attire most of the times and go wherever you want at whichever time suits you. On the other hand, you have to spend days of time to plan thing, keep a watch on political disturbances abroad, and make a budget for your vacation. For local travel, you don’t need any such preparations and just relax at your pace.
Less packing
No need to pack too many clothes, shoes, makeup, or food items. You don’t even need to consider changes in weather to pack things. You can simply pack a few essentials in a daypack and carry on with your day trip.
Less time
If you want to go for a long vacation, you have to plan a lot of days off from work, include weekends in your itinerary, and then return on a designated day only to join office the very next day with drowsy eyes. On the contrary, you can spend just a day or two from your regular weekends without compromising on work, and go for a refreshing day out.
No travel burnout
While constantly dealing with flights, tickets, room bookings, carrying luggage, and running from place to place, you definitely feel tired of traveling. Instead of refreshing yourself, you may feel burnt out from traveling too much in a new city. Of course, no one likes to waste money after coming to a new city, but you cannot deny the feeling of burnout as well. A few hours away from home are, in fact, more refreshing than a long vacation some times.
Planned vacations overseas and local travel both have their benefits. You must experience both from time to time.
