With the exception of a few places around the world, such as Hong Kong, they’re almost unique. Yes, they can be crowded and they’re not cheap in the scheme of things, but they’re also great fun!
8. The architecture and historic sites. True, you either love history and old buildings or you don’t. Yet this lovely city has some real beauties to explore; a tour can open your eyes to the close links between this part of Europe and places in North Africa and the Eastern Mediterranean during the medieval period when the city was a major world power.
