Java proved to be to an absolute innovation! Yes, Java is one such programming language that has turned the development upside down. It has been implemented by developers in so many revolutionary trends that it's almost hard to think that Java can come to an end. Nonetheless, Java's features and functionality list is something that is not going to vanish anytime soon.

Other than being merely a language, Java these days are incorporated into other digital trends to make maximum use of it. The language is slowly and steadily incorporating bits and pieces of syntax from newer languages to come out more hybrid and trendy. Java is being used today for most of the high quality development works by companies, provided the Java development company has good programmers.

Today, in this blog we will talk about the future of Java programming language. We will see how Java is going to fulfill the need for the future.

Java is often considered as a language that is stable, predictable, has the depth of features, and strong community which is why it is the first choice for IT enterprises and businesses.

But every language requires constant updates and upgrades to make it feasible as per the industry standards. Oracle here plays an important role in updating the Java language. It keeps a flow of a series of updates that make Java compatible, functional, complete and enterprise applicable.

However, a series of slow release time of Java updates justified Java’s falling behind other languages.

Java 9: Java 9 language was released in September 2017, with significant changes and updates on Java 8. It had updates based on entirely new architecture and structure to Java. Java 9 was an upgrade on Java 8:

It was based on a modular structure instead of the old monolithic model in Java 8.In terms of development and developers, classpath was replaced by modulepath and each module runs independently and not being dependent on one another.

This version of the Java language is so widespread that you can still find a mobile app or web application development company using it.

Java 10: After Java 9, Java 10 was later released in March 2018. It was released six months after the release of Java 9.

Java 10 didn’t include any massive changes.Java 10 includes a new and redefined garbage collector interface. It helps in organizing and concentrating the source code for garbage collection into one place instead of file distribution and finally pathing throughout the Java environment.

Java 11: Talking about the future of Java, the nest release i.e. Java 11 is still several months away. However, there are certain assumptions of what to expect from the upcoming Java 11 language version.

Some of the scheduled and mandatory updates in Java 11 include standard browser updates and upgrading Java to Unicode 10 while the previous version includes Unicorn 8.Other significant update includes new syntax for some Lambda parameters, a garbage collector with lower overhead, and new class-file constants.Apart from above-added features, Java 11 will get rid of few for good like support for Java EE and COBRA modules.

Bye-bye Servers: Soon java could be seen without servers. Initially, it was built for serverless, but it still needed improvement in eradicating the servers fully and finally. With the support of Spring Boot, the containers are expected to be weighed lighter and great to be built upon serverless.

Trends collaboration: Java cannot go out of fashion very soon because there are many digital trends in the market that needs Java for its success. Enterprises are looking for growth, innovation, digitization, a revolutionary move that uplifts the market and the end users. Java language is a perfect tool for collaboration with other trends like Machine Language, AR/VR, IoT, Cloud and many more.

Dependency on Java: Almost all the segments of the IT market are dependent on Java. Today, Java is used for all kinds of developments and 95% of developers have expertise on Java language. It's hard to find any other language that has so much dependency on any kind of development. Also, if a new language takes over Java, then the first market needs to be filled with developers who are well versed in the new language and that obviously would take time.

Performance: Not to miss the best feature of Java language, it could outrun any other language due to its performance. Java is equipped with back-end features and functionalities that make it perform on super speed. The language is not only popular but also very stable thus making it one of the fastest languages, even challenging C & C++ in some areas.

Conclusion:

To wrap up the summary, enterprise utilizing Java as the core language for their work and new developers may be skeptical about Java future. They may have several questions on what comes next for Java programming language. However, experts suggest that nowhere in the future we may see Java as a distant language.

It is a highly dependent language for many enterprises and developers plus on top of all that it has capabilities of undergoing many transformational developments that would make the language best than before.
