1. Register in Local Business Listing Site (Google My Business, Bing Places etc.)

If you rely on local marketing, then you must have your business registered in local business listing sites. Google my business and Bing Places are major business listing sites. People love to use Google my business app for local search. Aside that, you also have a better chance to get more business from Google listing.

2. Request for Verification and Publish Listing

After submitting your details with Google my business and Bing Places, the verification process begins. Within some days, Google will send a code in a postcard to the address you used in the registration. Enter the code to verify your business. After you must have entered the code, Google will publish your listing after 3 working days.

3. Update Company Details (Working hours, Categories, Photos, Videos)

After you have been verified, you will need to fill up your business details which include categories, working hours, photos, videos, business description etc.

4. Create Google + Brand Page.

After Google must have publish your listing, Google automatically create one Brand page in Google+ platform.

5. Google + Profile Linked with Website

After successfully registering on Google my business, add your Google + profile link to your website. When you do this, your website will be linked to your business listing page.

6. Add City and State in Title and Description Tag

All pages of your website must have your city or country name on it. Target only local area market. Your city, state or country name must be included in your Meta Tag (Title and Description). The city, state or country must be separated with a space or comma.

Use Google keywords planner to check for the volume of search with city or country, then target those keywords on your meta Tag.

7. Add City and State in Heading Tag [H1, H2, H3 …]

Google algorithm place high focus on Heading tag after meta tag. Don`t miss city or state in Heading Tag. After you must have used your city or country name in meta tag, do the same for h1 and h2 tag. Use different heading Tag name but use the same city or state.

8. Add City and State in Content Body and Tag [Description, Article, Post]

In Local business, you must target your city and state in the meta description tag and content body. If you fail to do that, it will be difficult for Google algorithm to understand your targeted location. If you can not use city and state name in content, then don't fail to include them in the meta description and content body. Also, use business address in footer of your website.

9. Include Google Listing Category in Meta Tag

When listing your business, select a better business category. You can also choose multiple categories in the registration form. Carefully choose the categories and business listing. Add your best category also in the Meta tag of your website. When you write meta tag, add one category in meta tag.

10. Add Working Hours, Address, Google Map, Phone number on the Contact Us page of your Website

For proper local business marketing, your working hours and location must be included in the contact us page. Contact us page is very important for local business seo marketing. Google focus on your contact us page when targeting local people. Know your business location, target area, contact details etc.

11. Add Business Name, Address and Phone Number on Every Page

In Local business seo, add business name, address and phone number on all page header or footer. Results from many website analysis, confirmed that websites ranking highest for local business seo, added address and phone number on the footer of each page.
