Acne is not just a teenage thing that goes away once you get past your teenage. People between the age of 25-40 with acnes constitute around 40% of the population. Acnes hurt the self-confidence and increase uncomfort in people. But luckily, you can get yourself supplements and vitamins for acne. These are cost-effective and they eliminate the need for going to the doctor.

Acne Supplements and Their Uses

1. Vitamin A

This is a pretty common and known treatment for people with acne. There are both ointments and edible supplements that contain vitamin A. Incorporating both into your diet will provide the maximum benefits. Some of the acnes are caused by the culmination of the dead cells in the pores of skin. Vitamin A sheds these dead cells off the body, so you won’t have any left for buildup.

Not only this but the vitamin A supplements also help reduce any type of inflammation in the skin. This includes the red and swollen areas over the skin. Vitamin A also enhances the immune system and promotes a healthy vision.

2. Vitamin C

Vitamin C is great as a restoration material for skin when someone experiences an acne breakout. Our muscles and bones contain a protein - collagen. Collagen is elementary in maintaining the skin structure. But the collagen production deteriorates as a person ages. It’s very impactful if you already have an acne outbreak.

Vitamin C increases the production rate of collagen. It aids in rejuvenating the skin in cases of serious acne breakout. But most importantly, vitamin C contains the anti-inflammatory values that prevent the acnes from occuring in the first place.

3. Zinc

Zinc is great for improving brain function and energizes the immune and reproductive systems of the body. Since zinc is a powerful antioxidant and is anti-inflammatory, it’s great for attaining a clear skin.

The zinc supplements control the sebum production in the body. Sebum maintains the hydration in skin and hair. But people under too much stress produce too much sebum in the body which results in acne breakouts. Zinc is also necessary for a good mechanism.

4. Selenium

Human body has glutathione, an enzyme that prevents inflammation. But this enzyme needs selenium to operate properly. People with acne typically have low selenium levels and thus they need selenium supplements. Selenium works best when it’s combined with other antioxidants.

5. Omega-3

Fatty acids containing omega-3 are one of the greatest anti-inflammatories found in nature. Getting an omega-3 supplement will restrict two chemicals (LTB4 and PGE2) directly linked to the production of acne. Taking an omega-3 supplement will not only reduce your acne level but will help with your diabetes, arthritis or heart disease of any kind.

6. Magnesium

Magnesium reduces the inflammation level of an acne breakout. It also reduces the cortisol level in the body which is responsible for stress. Magnesium supplements help provide a sound sleep. It also increases the serotonin and melatonin levels which contribute to healthy sleep, good mood and less acne.

7. Vitamin E

Vitamin E clears out the pores on your skin and defends it. It also neutralizes the free radicals and hydrates the body. If you use vitamin E as oils or supplements, you’ll be able to treat your pimples and get rid of the acne scars.

If you can’t get rid of your acne even after following different methods, it’s time you turn to natural acne supplements. But you can’t expect to get results within days and with one single supplement. Try to incorporate as many acne supplements as you can from the list above to get the best result.
