Do small businesses require onsite IT Support

Throughout the last twenty years I have worked in IT Support I have dealt with countless businesses where I provide onsite IT Support. These businesses all had one thing in common they all made use of IT systems to process information, and in all cases the users were not technically minded.

You see, when it comes to computers and computing in general, a certain amount of technical knowledge is required to install, manage and support computer systems.

Without a technically inclined person managing IT systems, the whole thing will fall apart. I have seen this countless times ad I was the one that had to pick up the pieces when coming back from a short holiday.

Even though a fairly competent person was tasked to take my place, that person lacked the experience in that environment. Which in turn lead to user frustration as systems were being left in a broken state.

In short these are my five reasons to have a onsite IT Support person:

Stay focused on your core business

Businesses have limited resources, and every manager has limited time and attention. Outsourcing can help your business stay focused on your core business and not get distracted by complex IT decisions.

Reduce risk

Every business investment carries a certain amount of risk. Markets, competition, government regulations, financial conditions, and technologies all change very quickly. Outsourcing providers assume and manage much of this risk for you, with specific industry knowledge, especially security and compliance issues.

Compliance and security

Is your firewall up to date? Do you audit your Workstations and Servers? Your IT infrastructure could be out of date allowing security holes to outsiders.

Expertise

By selecting managed services you gain access to staff with specialist skills and decades of experience.

Proactive mitigation of data loss and downtime. Require cost effective small business IT Support and IT Services?

By inspecting system logs, data loss caused by hardware failure can be detected and resolved early on.

Looking for locally based technical support: IT Support and IT Services

An onsite support tech is right there when you need him, can you afford not to have them close? Remember, not everything can be fixed remotely.

I sure hope this article helps someone determine if they need to outsource IT or have a local onsite IT Support person. https://serverguru.com.au/services/computer-repairs-brisbane

Through this post I hope to educate a few business owners about the steps to follow to create a safer computing environment. By following the basics outlined in this IT risk assessment and security article you will be on your way to safer computer systems.

IT systems and computers are forever changing, Windows based computers need anti-malware loaded, Windows 10 needs to be updated on a weekly basis and system maintenance plays a big roll in all this. Having a qualified IT person securing the network and everything else is a must.

Regular reporting to the CFO and CTO so that they can include this in the report to the CEO is largely a top level. Many IT managers neglect to have a technical support technician onsite as they feel they are capable enough for the task when indeed they are not. IT managers will report to the CFO if they fail to maintain IT systems properly.
