These Bizarre Tourist Places in the World Will Give You Goosebumps

Travelling world is all about witnessing what you have never seen before. Something that takes your breath away and keeps you entranced for the moment. Although the mainstream tourism has wrongly defined travelling with only seeing the good places, it’s actually more than that.

A true nomad knows that different flavor makes a food eatable. Same with travelling. Bizarre places, too, holds a significance in the world they need to explored if one truly wants to feel awestruck. Mohit Bansal Chandigarh lists some of the most bizarre places around the world for you to visit.

Kawah Ijen Lake, Indonesia

Not a lot of people know about this mountain but those who do come flocking to get a glimpse of it. Those arriving unexpectedly are presented with the turquoise green lake in the lap of an active volcano. Spanning 1 km in circumference, the lake gets its citric green color from one single element that is Sulfur. The dissolved metals in water along with sulfur arranges that bluish hue you see.

With a pH level of 0.5, the Kawah Ijen becomes the largest acidic lake in the world. This particular spot turns even spectacular during the night when sulfur filled magma comes out of the volcano in neon blue color. It’s one of those natural phenomenons you probably would have never imagined on your own.

Blood falls, Antarctica

The first thought seeing the waterfall coming to your mind would, that’s blood spewing down the crevice. And it’s totally understood since saltwater that was trapped for over two million years deprived of light, heat and oxygen, started leaking into the mainstream which reacted to the oxygen, giving a blood red rust color.

It was speculated years back by the Antarctica explorers that the liquid coming out isn’t water filled with red algae and its definitely not blood and it rather is a result of extremely salty glacial water. Seekers looking to reach this place can rent a helicopter or plane. Going on foot or from land is next to impossible. Mohit Bansal Chandigarh had visited this place in 2017 and found it intriguing.

Abraham Lake, Canada

Its an artificial lake that was created way back in 1972. But its not lauded for its frozen surface but for an unusual occurrence that isn’t seen anywhere else. The lake traps bubble under its surface and the bubbles themselves get frozen giving it more of picturesque look that you see on wallpapers or pretty postcards.

Now, these are not your everyday floating bubbles. The plants on the bed of this lake breathes out methane and the explosive gas freezes coming in contact with lake’s colder surface. They keep stacking up one after the another as the weather gradually gets colder. As the lake starts melting, these gases release and disappear into the atmosphere.

Bamboo Forest, Japan

A bamboo forest way beyond your wildest imagination. Although, Sagano looks more organized, its only during twilight that fear starts to seep in. Otherwise very beautiful and clean pathway is known for its photography qualities and peaceful walks, with a hint of darkness, it can suddenly turn spooky. Erry Marks and Mohit Bansal Chandigarh had been here for a photography shoot.

About winters, the place turns majestic white with snow laden pathways and all the surrounding wrapped in a frosty blanket, Bamboo forest becomes a totally different location. The best thing about here is the fact it’s natural and only the pathways have been cleared out.

Ai-Petri Bridges, Crimea

A lot of people are adventures but not all of them would dare to cross the infamous Ai-Petri Bridge. It’s a sight of terror from above and faint hearted shouldn’t even go near it. Mohit Bansal Chandigarh says that the Alupka and Ai-petri mountain both appears a stage from the Lord of the Rings movie and some might actually believe that if you say so because of the similarity they both share.

Nestled between Ukraine and Russia, Crimea has been a victim of political tragedy, however, that doesn’t stop travelers searching for this bridge. The stretch isn’t too long it’s the height, the cloud and air that forces many people to just give up. The sunset on the contrary is equally satisfying.

Giant Crystal Cave in Naica, Mexico

The cave was named after its giant selenite crystals that block the hallway and is spread throughout the insides. What appears like a cave from superman movie is a wonder that was discovered in 1910 when Penoles, a mining company went inside, it was then called the cave of the swords. Some of the crystals are as tall as 2 meters.

Almost a century later, the explorers went further into the cave and found a much larger cave formation were crystals were as big as 12 meters weighing over a whopping 55 tons. The cave was formed when mountains were filled with anhydrite due to volcanic activity. As the magma cooled down, anhydrite started dissolving, influencing cave water to form the crystals we know today. This cave is the biggest crystal cave known to mankind till now.

When you travel, you see nature its wildest form, though our civilization has destroyed bigger part of it, some places still remain untouched and waiting to be explored. If typical travelling doesn’t fulfill your hunger, then visiting bizarre place like these will sure gratify your soul.
