Working in an office can quickly become monotonous. It is seldom an interesting and engaging place to work. Repetitive tasks can quickly become boring and stressful. Next thing you know, we are longing to be somewhere else. Also, our day-to-day working life boils down to us constantly looking at the clock hoping for it to finally strike five. Luckily for us, there are plenty of innovative, inexpensive ways to fight office boredom. Sure, it is important to note that a workplace is mostly about the right people rather than anything else. But still, material things (not talking about the necessary tools of the trade) can really make a difference when it comes to productivity. Here are some workplace gadgets that will make office life easier, simpler, interesting, and engaging.

Desk attachment armrests

It is the small things that make the greatest impact when it comes to office engagement. Pain joint or carpal tunnel syndromes are a common thing, especially if we are spending most of our working hours tirelessly typing away. This simple addition will help employees adjust their arms to a height a position that fits them personally. It will prevent pain, promote healthy posture habits in front of a monitor, and increase productivity, specifically typing speed.

Healthy snacks

A very small number of companies offer free snack for their employees. Which is unfortunate because it can be used as a powerful tool for introducing various engaging aspects into an otherwise dull office. An occasional break to reenergize our mind and our body is necessary for any productive endeavor. Furthermore, we can continue to promote health by introducing natural and healthy snacks as opposed to traditional, sugar-saturated ones.

Greenery

Plants are pretty much commonplace in any office or venue. There are good reasons for it. Plants are proven to reduce stress, increase productivity, and make any room feel more like at home. We as humans have a natural desire to be connected with the outdoors. This is in direct conflict with today’s modern spaces, especially the ones we spend our time working in. Offices tend to strip us of our connection to a more natural environment. We can negate that by introducing plants in our offices in surprisingly diverse ways. Simple pots are ok but are bulky, and there are plenty of other options. Green plant walls, for example, are much more space efficient and aesthetically pleasing. Whatever options we decide to take, we can never go wrong with making our workspace a little bit greener.

Small fitness accessories

There is a common theme here that is sweeping across all offices as of late. Health is a big issue, especially in today’s sedentary lifestyle and working environments. Employees are looking for more options to preserve and improve their health. We can get with the times and provide them with basic, inexpensive, but invaluable props that can serve that purpose. Some of them are resistance bands, stability balls, grip strength trainers in their various forms, you name it. Any physical movement that we can squeeze in that does not hinder but promote productivity, is always welcome.

Personal multimedia gadgets

The hardware infrastructure in any company needs to be on the level for maximum productivity and employee satisfaction. Yes, personal computers and laptops a pretty much a must-have tools in any modern working environment. But we can take that to a step further by offering our employees personal tablets. They have become ubiquitous, inexpensive, and essential. Tablets and phones are the most mobile and versatile devices, as they can do almost everything that a modern personal computer can. Most importantly for a working environment, we can use them to make quick demonstrations and pass on information. Wireless display technology enables us to seamlessly present our content to a boardroom, without hulking around with a laptop and its power brick. Still, these technologies are still new so we would like to make sure that the devices satisfy our needs by contacting smartphone specialists that we can trust. It can get quite technical and so, it is advisable to consult professionals for such matters. Such devices will make our jobs a lot easier and streamlined. Another example of portable presentation equipment is portable projectors. Let’s say that we do not have a gigantic screen in every meeting office. No worries, all we need is a piece of flat, white wall, a small, portable projector, and we are ready to give a presentation of our career. It is a mobile, space-efficient solution that can be shared amongst employees.

Workplace accessories do not exist only to look cool in the office and impress clients. If used correctly, they can prove to be very useful tools that will help us increase productivity, reduce stress, and set us apart from everyone else.
