One of the most popular destinations in the world is Bhutan. It is the only kingdom in the world where instead of Gross Domestic Product they measure Gross Happiness Index. The place boasts of untouched natural beauty, breathtaking scenery and panoramic views. It is a beautiful place to be. This summer, why don’t you take your family on a vacation to Bhutan?

There are many tours and travel operators who offer Bhutan tours at reasonable rates. You can hire any one of them. But like everything else in life, travelling too needs to be planned in advance so that everything falls in place and you can enjoy a smooth and hassle free trip. Below are the guidelines to follow:

  • Find out when your kids summer holidays are starting. In case you don’t have kids yet and only you and your partner will be travelling then shortlist the dates on which both of you will be free and plan your trip on those days.
  • Next you need to book your travel tickets. It is always a good idea to book the tickets in advance, as the amount charged will always be low. Last minute bookings are always expensive. Why pay more when you already know the dates when you will be travelling?
  • Find out what are the aspects that will be covered as part of the Tibet tour? Here you need to know two things – the accommodation offered and the places of visit. Ask the tour operators to share an updated list of the itinerary so that you know what will be covered on the first day of the trip, second day and so on.
  • If you are interested in hiking then you need to look for the local hiking operators once you reach there. Local people have better knowledge and will be able to guide you accordingly. Ask the receptionist of the hotel where you have put up. He will be able to give you contact details of the companies that organize hiking trips in Nepal. You have to be physically fit if you want to try
climbing in Nepal. Make sure to go to the gym at least two months before your hiking trip. It is important that you improve your stamina.

  • Pack your luggage as per the prevailing whether of Bhutan/Tibet/Nepal. All these are mountainous regions and are going to be cold even during the summers. So make sure to carry some lightweight sweaters, you sneakers, gloves and caps inaddition to your jeans and trousers. Don’t forget to pack ina good moisturizing cream and a pair of sunglass. Both are equally important.
  • Always carry some extra cash with you in case of any emergency you will have extra money to spare.
