Understanding Your Dalaman Transfer

As Turkey’s popularity as a holiday destination rose – in similar fashion to what happened in locations such as Crete – so too did the volume of activity in its airports increase. While a few years ago Istanbul was just about the only area tourists were interested in visiting in that country, the recent popularity of resorts such as Marmaris and towns such as Dalaman has helped change that situation slightly, helping Turkey as a whole increase its touristic profile.

Still, it cannot be denied that the brunt of the country’s air traffic continues to be centred on one or two airports. Istanbul evidently experiences a large volume of international traffic – being the capital city, and an historic centre as well as a business one – but tourists coming into the country on leisure, and wanting to experience one of its many luxurious coastal resorts, are much more likely to opt for a Dalaman transfer.

Central and Handy

In fact, this airport’s ideal location makes it the perfect hub from which to spread out into less explored areas of Turkey, as well as into its main holiday spots. Dalaman transfer times to most of the main tourist resorts in Turkey are relatively small, and that causes large numbers of tourists each year to book their flight to this airport, rather than the better-known and busier Istanbul facility.

The nearest holiday resort is Sarigerme, a typical sleepy seaside town that comes alive every summer. This location may not have the glitz and glamour of Marmaris, but it is likely to please holidaymakers wanting nothing more from their break than a pleasant bit of quiet sunbathing. Furthermore, a Dalaman transfer to this location takes a mere fifteen minutes, making it a perfect home base for those not wanting to spend a lot of money on shuttle services or stray too far from the airport.

Slightly further away – a half-hour’s drive on a Dalaman transfer – sits Dalyan, a riverside village offering stunning natural sights and prone to captivate fans of walking or those wanting to commune with nature. Akyaka and Fethiye are two more stunning beaches located less than an hour’s drive from the airport in question, and which may interest fans of sun and surf. For those willing to spend a little more time inside a shuttle taxi, locations such as Oludeniz, Kalkan, Turunc, Datka and Selimiye await discovery.

It is clear, then, why this is the most popular airport to fly into for holidaymakers headed to the Turkish coast. With idyllic beaches less than an hour away, this facility is the perfect hub from which to start a holiday in that country.
