If characters are occasionally missing from the text there is probably a communications error.

Check that the cable connecting the Epson printers to the computer is correctly plugged in. Check the communications settings on the printer and the computer, ensuring that they match. Split text is very rarely caused by the Epson printers, but it may occur if a page contains a very large number of characters and there is insufficient memory in the Epson printers to cope. For instance a complete page of 6 point text contains many more characters than a page of 10 or 12 point text, and may exceed the capabilities of some Epson printers. ////// Strongly recommends that customers use only genuine drum units and/or toner cartridges. 1. Did you replace the toner cartridge with a NEW, out of the box, genuine toner cartridge (TN620/TN650)?

NOTE If a toner cartridge from another machine was installed (even if there’s still toner left in the used cartridge), the message ‘Replace Toner’ would continue to appear on the display. To clear the message a new, genuine toner must be installed.

2. Open the front cover and remove the drum and toner assembly.

NOTE We recommend placing the toner and drum assembly on a piece of paper in case of accidental spill or scatter toner.

3. Remove the gray toner cartridge from the black drum by holding down the blue lock lever on the right side of the drum unit and lifting the toner cartridge out.

An Internet connection may be required to install built-in drivers. If your computer is not connected to the Internet, then the built-in driver may not be installed properly.
