Pashupatinath

Swayambhunath stupa(monkey temple)
Swayambhunath is the holiest Buddha chaityas in Nepal situated northwest of the Kathmandu Valley. This stupa is widely known as Monkey Temple among the visitors abroad. Swayambhunath sits atop its hill overlooking most parts of the valley. It is a good place to catch a good view of the city.
Worshipped by both Hindus and Buddhists the site has stood a hallmark of faith and harmony for centuries. A top of the staircase leading to the stupa lies a gold plated Vajra (a thunderbolt) behind which is the vast, round, white dome of the stupa, like a full solid skirt, at the top of which are two giant Buddha eyes wisely looking out over the peaceful valley.

Shivapuri National park
Shivapuri national park established in 2002 is the second highest point at the valley rim. Situated at the height of 2732m from the sea level Shivapuri national park covers 159km2 in the district of Kathmandu, Nuwakot, Sindhupalchowk.
