What is masterbatch, also called calcium carbonate filler?

Masterbatch is made from base resin, CaCO3, some additives and colorant for plastic in perfect proportion to meet the requirements and production standards of customers. Manufacturers can directly use calcium carbonate filler to reduce the production cost, but the quality of final product is still guaranteed.

Manufacturers should choose CaCO3 filler as an additional material in production. This product helps:

• Higher extruder productivity, faster cooling

• Reduce mold cooling time, reduce cycle time

Operating principle of masterbatch making machine

Masterbatch granulator is the main equipment that makes almost Europlas products. From the initial materials, namely base resin, CaCO3, additives, colorings, all will be put into the hopper to mix well to have a good dispersion. The mixture of this material is then added to a granulator for forming calcium carbonate filler products with dimensions of 3 × 3 (± 0.3) mm. The final step is cooling and packaging.

The principle of operation of the masterbatch granulator is based on a closed and seamless recirculation process from the stage of feeding the material into the machine until the product is made. All are automatically produced under the control of a standing technician. Products created from this device are particles of half-bean shape, composed of high molecular weight polymer molecules, so the device to create masterbatch that EuP is using is also divided into several groups based on base resin properties of these products: PE, PP, ABS, PVC,...
