Turn Off Error Reporting Feature in Windows 10

  1. Firstly, launch the ‘Run’ dialog box by pressing the Windows + R keys altogether on the keyboard.
  2. In the ‘Run’ dialog box, type the following command: ‘service.msc.’
  3. Right-tap on the ‘Windows Error Reporting Service’ option.
  4. Press the ‘Properties’ tab located in the settings option.
  5. Choose the ‘Disabled’ tab available at the menu near to ‘Startup type’ option.
  6. After that, press the ‘OK’ tab followed by the ‘Apply’ tab.
  7. Then, exit all the ‘Service Window’ tabs.

However, one can also turn off this feature via Registry Editor option. For this, go to the ‘Registry Key’ option and search out the value that is called as ‘Disabled.’ In case, if the value doesn’t exist, create a new DWORD value with the correct and exact name. twice-click the ‘Disabled’ value only to modify it from 0 value to a 1 and click on the ‘Save’ tab followed by OK option.

Turn Off Error Reporting Feature in Windows 8 and Windows 7

  1. Click on the ‘Control Panel’ to launch the control panel window on the screen.
  2. Press the ‘System & Security’ tab located in the ‘Control Panel window.
  3. Tap on the ‘ Action Center’ tab.
  4. Press the ‘Change Action Center Settings’ option available from the left corner of the ‘Action Center window.
  5. Choose ‘Problem Reporting Settings’ situated at the lower corner of the ‘Related Settings’ window.
  6. Choose one from the available four options:
    1. Automatically checkout for solutions.
    2. Check for solutions automatically and send some additional report data, if prompted.
    3. Whenever a problem occurs, asked me before checking for any solutions.
    4. Never check for the solutions.
  7. Tap on the ‘OK’ tab on the window signifies ‘Problem Reporting Settings’ option.
  8. Press the ‘OK’ on the window option, which says ‘Change Action Center Settings.’
  9. Finally, exit all the Action Center window.
