An attractive island in the archipelago of Canary Islands, Lanzarote offers a variety of awe-inspiring landscapes within its 800-square-kilometre area. Most of them were created after the massive volcanic eruptions that took place in the 18th century. Besides these amazing landscapes, you can also explore some charming beaches while holidaying in this part of the world. Lanzarote became the world's first destination to get the certification of Biosphere Responsible Tourism in the year 2015. If you like to spend some quiet moments, you can explore the solitary islets that surround the island.

You'll get to have more savings upon booking any of the cheap holidays to Lanzarote, which can be utilised while exploring the most popular attractions of this Spanish island. Among them is the Timanfaya National Park, which is visited by more than a million people every year owing to its unique landscapes. While exploring this park you'll also get to visit a restaurant located on top of the Islote de Hilario car park and coach pick-up point. This restaurant was designed by a famous architect, artist, and sculptor called Cesar Manrique. The raw landscapes of this park would also give you an idea of what the earth might have appeared like upon its formation.

Another fascinating place you can explore during your cheap holidays to Lanzarote is Cueva de Los Verdes, which is one of the world's longest volcanic tunnels. It was opened to the public in the year 1964 after it was impressively transformed by Jesus Rafael Soto, a Venezuelan sculptor, artist, and painter. While visiting this cave, you'll get to walk through its 2-kilometre pathway. You'll also get to witness the fantastic lighting system of the cave, which highlights the beauty of its walls. With a guided tour of this cave system, you'll also get to see some brilliant optical illusions.

You can head to the north of this island during your cheap holidays to Lanzarote and visit Mirador del Rio. It is a popular vantage point located at the end of Risco de Famara range at a height of 479 metres. It was used by the island's early Spanish settlers to keep a watch on the pirates who frequently invaded this Canary Island and left with some major damages. In the late 19th century, a gun battery and fortress was added when Spain went to war with the United States of America over Cuba's ownership. A visit to this place would also allow you to witness Salinas salt pans and the beach of Playa El Risco.

Don't miss visiting the famous Cactus Garden of the island, which is located in a village called Guatiza. This garden was developed under Cesar Manrique's guidance and houses more than 10,000 varieties of plants. You'll also find excellent facilities that have been provided for the garden's visitors, such as a restaurant, snack bar, free parking, gift shop, wheelchair access, and free Wi-Fi. It opens at 10:00 in the morning and charges a nominal fee for adults and children up to 12 years of age.
