For a long time, web design has been flashy for the web world but we can see the focus shifting since the past few years. The main thing a web designer or even a custom website designer and web development company is looking at right now is simplicity and more cleanliness. Website designs have evolved over the years and each jump in technology leads to a better user experience. A boring web design will lose readership which will hit hard on any brand. Thus, brands are opting for the latest that tech has to offer on the web designing front. No compromises! It is essential in the fast paced world of tech. A lot is involved in a design and more than just the technical aspect, the end user has to be kept in mind the most. Overlooking that is not an option and this year’s designs will simply show a solid shift in the world of web designing and development. Here are some trends that will dominate the year and it is very much to the liking of the audiences.

1. A FLAT UI

To everyone’s delight, windows 8 has majorly helped in shifting focus to a flat UI. Apple’s iOS7 followed. It is so clean and user friendly, that for a long time, we can expect to see only flat UI everywhere. Easy on the eye and very friendly to the user, this has to be the top trend for most website designs this year.

2. MOBILE DRIVEN

Mobile is overtaking web would be too strong a statement but facts are facts and any custom website designer and web development company will agree to this. Desktop remains where it is, of course but the growing usage of smartphones can’t be overlooked when it comes to website designs for the year. The gigantic rise in the usage of mobile phones has already led to web designers to rethink how to bring about a comfortable usage for smaller screens and this will be a dominant theme for 2014.

3. REMOVING THE ‘TEXT’ CLUTTER

Most of the websites these days have shifted from being text heavy to being minimalistic and more dependent on icons and images. What can be said in two or three words is transformed to an image that clearly tells what is there for the user if he clicks it. There shouldn’t be absolute elimination text but a mix of text and images will be prominently seen this year.

4. BACKGROUNDS FULL OF LIFE

By that I mean using videos or the likes for dynamic backgrounds. Static backgrounds are already becoming passé and if given a chance by the brands, a custom website designer and web development company will opt for slicker looking backgrounds in motion for the user to enjoy coming back to the site again. Gone are the days of the mundane and 2014 is the year that will see this happening.

These are only a few of the trends that are thought to dominate 2014. A lot of surprises and innovations can be seen as we go through the year. These are essential trends and any addition to these will be a bonus, both to the user and the brand!
