How to Turn Off JavaScript in Any Browser of Any Device

- Open ‘Advanced’ settings from the bottom.
- Scroll down to ‘Privacy and Security’ settings.
- Click on ‘Content Settings.’
- Go to the center of the page, and click on ‘JavaScript.’
- Use the ‘Blocked’ toggle switch to enable or disable JavaScript in Chrome.
On Android:
- Open ‘Google Chrome.’
- Tap on ‘More’ icon.
- Go to ‘Settings.’
- Scroll down to ‘Advanced’ section at the bottom
- Tap on ‘Site settings.’
- Go to the center of the page, and click on ‘JavaScript.’
- Use the ‘Blocked’ toggle switch to enable or disable JavaScript in Chrome.
Note: Unfortunately, Chrome for iPhone and iPad doesn’t allow to disable the JavaScript.
How to access JavaScript settings in Safari
Once you go to the JavaScript settings, you can enable or disable JavaScript whenever you want.
On Desktop:
- Open ‘Safari.’
- Click on ‘Safari’ tab.
- Click ‘Preferences.’
- Click on ‘Security’ (Lock icon) at the top.
- Use the box before ‘Enable JavaScript’ to enable or disable the feature on your Safari browser.
On the iPhone or iPad:
- Open ‘Settings’.
- Scroll down to the middle.
- Then tap on ‘Safari.’
- Scroll down to the bottom.
- Tap on ‘Advanced.’

On Desktop:
- Open ‘Mozilla Firefox’.
- When it opens, click the search bar at the top.
- Delete the text from the address bar, if there’s any.
- Now, type ‘about:config’ (without quotes) into it.
- Press the ‘Enter’ button to land on the configuration page.
- Click the big blue ‘I accept the risk!’ button, if prompt.
- After that, click the search bar at the top of about:config window.
- Type ‘JavaScript’ into the bar. You’ll start seeing options for JavaScript.
- Find the option ‘javascript.enabled’ in the options.
- Double click on ‘javascript.enabled’ to enable (True) or disable (False) JavaScript.
On Andriod:
- Open ‘Mozilla Firefox’ app.
- Tap the search bar at the top.
- Delete the text from the address bar, if there’s any.
- Now, type ‘about:config’ into it.
- Tap on the ‘Search’ button to open the configuration page.
- Tap on the address bar of the configuration page.
- Type ‘JavaScript’ into the bar. JavaScripts options start appearing on the screen.

- Tap the ‘Toggle’ button to enable (True) or disable (False) JavaScript.
Note: Unfortunately, Chrome for iPhone and iPad doesn’t allow users to disable the JavaScript.
How to access JavaScript settings in Opera
Here is how to enable or disable JavaScript in Opera browsers.
- Open ‘Opera’.
- Click on ‘Customize & control Opera’.
- Go to ‘Settings.’
- Click on ‘Websites.’
- Go to ‘JavaScript’ section.
- Use the ‘Manage exceptions’ button to enable or disable JavaScript in Opera browser.
