THE BACKBONE OF TECHNOLOGY, DATA ANALYTICS

What is data?

Everybody knows what is data. Data is an entity which can be recorded. It is this data which is collected when we use technology as well. This data is in the form of 0s and 1s. The data scientists these days have been making big efforts to make this data intelligent. Moreover, with the mighty rise in population, the amount of this data is huge. Your average database management systems cannot handle this much data. There are certain people who work in the field of computer science who use this raw data, process it, cleanse it and take out useful information from it. These people are data analytics.

What is data analytics?

What is data analytics? It is the stream of computer science in which a person collects raw data and inspect and clean it to get the useful information it holds. It is one of the most widely known fields these days. To study data analytics, one needs to be good in database management system, statistics, machine learning and programming languages. This subject has especially helped businessmen in their business and finance as well. Presently, almost every organization is data driven these days, which is why they have data analysts doing their work as well.

What happens in this field?

In Data Analytics, one has to collect the raw data and then process and organize it with the help of database software. These softwarearranges the data in the form of rows and columns which are easy to understand. Then, the data is cleaned and the errors are taken care of. Moreover, the duplicate values are deleted while the missing values are sought out. In the end comes the main objective of data analytics, which is to understand this data and see if it gives you something useful.

Data analytics is a vast field...

This field can be worked on for both small and large scale applications. Where the small applications use the general relational database management systems, the one which have big domains use software like Hadoop. Interestingly enough, data analytics can be divided into further sub-parts like descriptive analysis, predictive analysis, diagnostic analysis and prescriptive analysis. These analytics have their own domains and functionalities. Some of the famous tools used in data analytics are Apache Spark, Hadoop, Python, SAS and SQL. One should know that the companies like amazon, google and Facebook are thriving because of data analytics only. If it wasn’t for this field, they would have probably remained in their first versions.

In the end…

Not only this, this subject is closely related to data mining and data visualization. They even come as a single course in many colleges and universities. More and more people have found an interest in this language and it is guaranteed that if the awareness about this subject keeps rising, this generation will take the technology to heights. This is the reason why some colleges and universities have made it compulsory as a subject for the students who have taken computer science as well.
