Bali Tourism Places To Visit

Posted: Jul 19, 2019
Over the last few years, Bali tourism has skyrocketed into one of the most visited destinations. The island of the gods, Bali is a fine blend of natural beauty, looming volcanoes, lush terraced rice fields and sandy beaches that invoke feelings of peace and serenity. This paradise on earth is one of the islands in the Indonesian archipelago and attracts tourists from all over the world. Almost 80% of international visitors travelling to Indonesia visit Bali and Bali alone. Bali tourism has only grown over the last few years and has even been nominated for many travel awards.
There is a whole lot to explore in this tropical location. A standard Bali tour package would include Ubud – the central hub of Bali, Nusa Dua – the city with the best international beach resorts, Kuta – the primary tourist spot for happening beaches and great nightlife, Seminyak – the centre of life for the island's expats. At its very core, Bali, and its beaches are a dream come true for aquaphiles, as they can spend their day surfing, diving and snorkelling.
Other than that, the list of Bali attractions goes far beyond just beautiful beaches, as a Bali tour package introduces you to the majestic Hindu temples and highland natural vistas in the company of the highly spiritual natives of Bali. Each temple is unique and should be visited at least once during your visit. Don’t miss the Pura Besakih temple against the cloudy peaks of Mount Agung and the mysterious ruins of Goa Gajah temple near Ubud. Remember to wear modest clothing when visiting the temples. Men and women are expected to wear shirts that cover the shoulders and upper arms, and also a sarong and sash, which are usually available on rent in most temples in Bali.
The Island is home to about four million people, and unlike any other island in a largely Muslim – dominated Indonesia, Bali is a pocket of Hindu religion and culture. A majority of the people here follow Balinese Hinduism. The inhabitants of this small island are generous, warm and possess a sly sense of humour; upon seeing a bald tourist, many locals exclaim 'bung ujan', which means today's rain is cancelled. It's their way of saying that the hairless head is like a clear sky.
The Balinese people are exceptionally artistic and religious and this combination is expressed in their various art forms, including the intricately-decorated temples and handicrafts. Most locals are employed in agriculture or agro-related activities. Bali tourism is the largest industry of the island.
Along with beaches, historical sites and temples, Bali is also blessed with beautiful mountains that can be an easy escape from all the hustle-bustle. Most of the west coast of Bali tourism is where the mountains are situated, with majority of tourists directed towards Gunung Abang, Gunung Adeng, Gunung Batukaru, and Mount Penulisan.
Between tradition and modernity, the Bali packages also incorporate attractions such as the Ubud Monkey Forest, Tanah Lot Temple, Tegalalang Rice Terraces, Ubud Art Market, Mirror Lounge, Pyramid in Legian, Hard Rock Cafe in Kuta, Seminyak Beach, Nusa Dua Beach, Echo Beach, Mount Batur. Bali has something for everyone. You can also choose to go surfing in Kuta, visit Ulun Danu Temple, have fun at Bali Treetop Adventure Park, go muck diving in Padang Bai, jetpacking in Tanjung Benoa, spend time at Sidemen, buy silver in Celuk, watch Kecak dance performance, and much more. Also contributing to Bali tourism are tourist places such as Tegalalang Rice Terraces, Sekumpul Waterfalls, Gili Air, and Munduk.
A Bali Tour Package is incomplete without trying the cuisine of a destination. Since thousands of islands with different cultures make up Indonesia, it's no wonder that Balinese food is just as diverse. Bali's most renowned dishes are made rich by the heavy use of local herbs and spices. They are traditionally eaten during the colourful Hindu ceremonies that punctuate life on the Indonesian island. The list of must-try Balinese food includes interesting and exotic selections such as lawar (minced meat salad), bebek betutu (roast duck), sate lilit (Balinese satay), and the island’s famed babi guling (whole spit-roast pig). The diverse food says a lot about the diverse culture one gets to experience in Bali tourism.
