Proposal Ideas for the Summer Months

After springtime imbues the human race with its yearly dose of romantic feelings, summer seals the deal by ramping up the heat and causing desires and passions to boil as a result. As such, it is not surprising to realise that the warmer months are among the most popular times for brides and grooms to ‘pop the question’ to their significant other.

In that regard, lovers who do choose to make their union official at this time of year have something of an advantage over those who do so in winter. Summertime allows for any number of fun, quirky proposal ideas which will only make the celebration that much more memorable and fun for all involved. Below are only a few of the ways in which a summertime proposal can be made unforgettable.

Water Wonderland

The summertime has traditionally been associated with a dip in the sea or the nearest pool complex, so why not use that to your advantage when proposing to your significant other? After all, a bride or groom who suspects an engagement may be nigh will be expecting a proposal to stem from a fancy dinner or romantic walk, less so from a day at the pool.

A standard, inner-city pool is not the only place in which a water-related summertime proposal can occur, either; why not find a water park, where the proposal can cap a full day of sliding fun, or coordinate with your local zoo’s dolphin show so that you and your partner are ‘randomly’ chosen to swim with these animals? Either of these proposal ideas can make for a quirky, fun and memorable engagement ceremony, provided you do not drop the ring at the bottom of the pool.

Happy Holidays

A tropical holiday during which the question is popped is one of the main tropes of proposal ideas, and while taking one during the northern hemisphere’s summer months may prove misguided – it is, after all, winter down below – it can easily be adapted and turned into a break at a European capital, a beach resort, or some exotic destination above the equator, such as Morocco. Any of these options will create a potentially romantic getaway, and inserting the proposal into this type of holiday will link it – in a bride or groom’s mind – to happy times spent next to their significant other, making the ‘yes’ that much more of a certainty.

These are, however, only a few of the many proposal ideas that can be carried out during the warmer months of the year. A creative bride or groom will undoubtedly have little difficulty coming up with a few more of his or her own.
