cardiac arrest

Sudden heart arrest normally happens if the heart of the victim stops pumping blood as it is supposed to. The person will lose the senses of responsiveness and you might even be tempted to think that the person is dead. If the person does not get immediate medical attention, he might end up losing his or her life. You need to understand that cardiac arrest and heart attack are two very different things. However, a heart attack can cause cardiac arrest if it causes an electrical disturbance.

Cause of heart attack

The cardiac arrest comes as a result of a problem with the rhythm of your heart which leads to a problem with the electrical system and hence leading to cardiac arrest. You can check if you can get medication from any of the Medicare supplement plans 2020 if you are eligible for Medicare. The heart electrical system is responsible for controlling the rate and the heartbeat of your heart.

If there is anything wrong with the system, your heart will beat too fast or it can beat too slowly. In short, it will beat in an abnormal manner (arrhythmia). Common arrhythmia can cause cardiac arrest so if you feel like your heart is beating irregularly, you can talk to your doctor or physician and you will be advised accordingly.

Conditions that can lead to sudden heart attack

Well, most people tend to think that you must have a cardiovascular condition for you to be affected by cardiac arrest. But the truth is that anybody can be affected by cardiac arrest even if you are in perfect health condition.

However, if you are suffering from some diseases like coronary artery disease, it can increase the risk of a heart attack. Coronary artery disease occurs as a result of clogged arteries by cholesterol and other substances and hence reducing the flow rate of blood in your body. If the arteries are clogged, it means that your heart will have a difficult time pumping the blood and hence increasing the risk of cardiac arrest. A heart attack also increases the risks of cardiac arrest as the scar tissues left after a heart attack can lead to arrhythmia and hence leading to cardiac arrest.

Risk factors

As we have already established, the coronary disease leads to cardiac arrest so things that cause the disease can be risk factors to a heart attack. Some of the cardiac arrest risk factors include obesity, smoking, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol levels in the body.

The age of a person can also be a risk factor for cardiac arrest. The older the person the higher the risk of the cardiac arrest. Use of enjoyment drugs or what some people call illegal drugs such as cocaine and heroin can increase the risk of a heart attack. Also, low levels of magnesium in the body can lead to cardiac arrest.

You can check many sites online where you can learn more about cardiac problems and how to prevent this deadly disease. Take care of you with lots of sport and daily activities and drop those bad habits such as smoking or laying down all day long eating junk food.
