However, the long term effects of sleep deprivation can mess with the overall well-being of the body as well. It drains mental abilities and puts your strain on your physical health. Sleep is an essential requirement of our body, much like air and food to function at its best. Rest provides the body with the much needed time to heal itself and restore the chemical balance.
