Successful and perfect weddings require a lot of planning and preparation. Part of this includes bridal appointments with wedding dresses experts or designers. It is during these appointments that the designer may inquire about the style and silhouette of the wedding dress one may want to wear on her wedding day. Of course, a person may have an idea in mind of how she may want the dress to look like but describing this to the designer might be a challenge. Therefore having an idea of the wedding dress in melbourne styles and silhouettes will come in handy during these appointments. Most bridal shops in Melbourne offer five different wedding dresses silhouettes which are;

Mermaid

It is famously known to be the most teasing wedding dress silhouettes. This is as a result of it being extremely hugging the bust, waist, and hips. A mermaid wedding dress will focus the attention to the hips and bring out the image of an hourglass shape for ladies with slender figures. It is attention-grabbing as it bursts out at the knees and is usually complemented with beads and ruffled skirts.

Ballgown

This is considered the most vintage wedding dress silhouettes and has a Cinderella effect for a bride on her wedding day. It features a fitted corset with a spread out skirt which is achieved by the use of layers of tulle like an ivory gown. The full skirt accentuates over the hips and lower torso making it the ideal silhouette for brides who want it trouble-free at their waists. It is considered the most royal silhouettes after some of the most prominent brides like the Duchess of Cambridge wore it on their weddings.

Sheath

Wedding dresses with a sheath silhouette usually glide the body and then fall vertically to the floor just below the hips. For brides who prefer an effortless gown, this is the ideal gown as it takes less fabric compared to other silhouettes. It is an easy silhouette to move around in. In addition, it is more versatile when it comes to the type of fabric to be used. It is a flattering choice for slender figures and petite brides.

Fit and flare

This is the ideal wedding dress silhouette for brides who want to show off their figure and don’t want to go for the mermaid silhouette. It accentuates the body through the bust and waist and is a bit lose at the hips and thighs. The skirt spreads out just above the knee which provides freedom to the legs. These wedding dresses can be used by brides who want to unleash their moves on the dance floor.

A line

This wedding dress silhouette is given this name because of the ‘A’ shape it creates on the body of a bride. It usually spreads out more from the waist. This silhouette is considered universally flattering and is perfect for all styles regardless of the wedding setting. Organza and lace are the most used fabrics in this bridal dress silhouette.
