When you wish to make a van hire on the Gold Coast there are a few formalities you need to consider. The most important document you will need is your current driver’s license which has your date of birth, photo, nationality. The next most important thing that you will also need is a current valid credit card in your name. Some rental companies will accept a debit card, but you are advised to ask them before signing a rental agreement. No companies will accept payment in cash, unless this is by prior arrangement.

If you do not have a valid Australian driver’s license the driver’s license you use must be printed in English or have an official translation into English. You would also be required to have a current International Driving Permit. Generally they require that you have been driving for over a year. The do not accept provisional or student licenses. All additional drivers also need to provide their valid driver’s license.

If you are not an Australian Citizen you will probably be required to present your passport, although different companies and locations have different requirements.
