The province of Saskatchewan held its second round of draws and invited a total of 610 candidates from Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand categories. Invited candidates can now apply for a provincial nomination for permanent residence of Canada.

This draw is the second major SINP (Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program) draw since the expansion in the number of eligible high-skilled occupations under SINP's Occupation In-Demand and Express Entry categories.

Last week, SINP(Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program) had issued a total of 769 invitations to candidates under these two sub-categories to apply for a provincial nomination.

The SINP(Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program) reported that the candidates who were invited in the latest draw are from 77 different occupations. Major occupations include engineers, human resource professionals, legal assistants, computer network technicians, educational counselors, cleaning supervisors as well as natural and applied science researchers.

Both of the draws held by Saskatchewan province on October 2 and September 25 draws were among one of the largest draws held since SINP had switched its sub-categories to an EOI (Expression of Interest) system in the year 2018.

Out of a total of 610 invites, 214 were issued to candidates under the Occupation In-Demand sub-category and the remaining 396 were issued to the Express Entry sub-category. The minimum score requirement in SINP’s October 2 draws was 68 points for both the sub-categories. But, this minimum score requirement is considerably lower than the last week’s draw cutoff, which was 70 points for Express Entry candidates and 79 points for Occupations In-Demand candidates.

Eligibility requirements for SINP

In order to be eligible to be considered for provincial nomination via any of the two SINP's sub-categories, you must have a minimum of one year of work experience in your designated occupation. You must prove English language ability by scoring a minimum CLB 4 and you must score a minimum of 60 points out of 100, on the points grid of SINP(Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program). While a job offer in Saskatchewan or a Canadian work experience is not required.
