You can’t travel for Umrah without these documents

No doubt, Umrah is one of the most important pilgrimages of Islam. Everyone wants to perform it at least once in their lives. If you are travelling for Umrah, you must have some travel documents, without them you can’t survive through airport customs. Here we will discuss documents that are essential for making your Umrah packages successful.

- Visa application
Visa application is one of the must travel documents for Umrah. You can apply for an Umrah visa application through a trusted travel agent in your country. - Umrah visa / Visit visa
You can’t enter the state of Saudi Arabia without having an Umrah visa or Visit visa. You can obtain an Umrah for the period of 8 months from Safar to Ramadan. You can’t apply for Umrah visa after the 15th of Ramadan. You can apply for a visit visa throughout the year.
- Passport
You can’t travel to any country without having your passport. Although Saudi govt. requires your passport having a validity of at least six months at the time of arrival at Saudi Arabia for Umrah performance. Your passport must contain two adjacent pages vacant for stamping.
- Passport size photographs
You also need to provide your passport size photographs while applying for Umrah booking. Your travel agent may ask you to provide with a white background. Remember that the photos must be of front-facing view rather than an angled or side view.
You are also advised to carry at least four passport size photographs with a blue background for any documentation purpose if you have one.
- Proof of vaccination
All Umrah pilgrims from all over the world must have to produce a valid certificate of vaccination against meningococcal meningitis that is equivalent to (A/C/Y/W135). Depending on your country, you may need some additional vaccination certificates against several diseases like polio, etc.
- Birth certificate / Marriage Certificate
Children under the age of 18 years should not travel without having their birth certificate. Girls below the age of 25 can’t go alone to Saudi Arabia.
If a woman is travelling with his husband as her mahram, they should not forget to carry their marriage certificate. If you are going through an Umrah visa and you are below to 45, you can’t travel without a mahram. Although women above 45 can perform Umrah on Umrah visa or visit visa alone or either by a group of ladies.
- Return tickets
A confirm round trip tickets to Saudi Arabia is required before an application for Umrah or visit visa. If you are applying for an online visit visa, you will also need these to provide.
- Shahada Certificate (for converts)
If you have converted to Islam recently, you need to show your proof of religion. You can obtain it from any authorized Muslim community, i.e. from Imam of your local mosque. Since non-muslim can’t enter in the state of Makkah and Madinah. So, be careful, especially if you have a non-muslim name on your passport.
