Have you ever wondered how to arouse the interest of your customers? How to improve business negotiation or encourage motivation? We invite you to continue reading this article to find out what the sales NLP consists of and how it can help you sell your product or service better.
What is NLP?
NLP means Neurolinguistic Programming, a concept that emerged in the 70s and linked mainly to obtaining results. According to the Spanish Association of Neurolinguistic Programming, Perl’s and Stair were two American psychotherapists famous for their brilliant results. This motivated John Grinder and Richard Bundler to investigate their procedures to discover what they were doing.
Although its origin was linked to psychotherapy, its current applications cover any area of personal and professional life since NLP is a set of communication methods and techniques focused on people achieving our goals. To better understand how it works, it is important to know that Neurolinguistic Programming is based on the fact that all human behavior develops on a "learned structure." Here is the key: we can detect this learned structure to model it according to our own techniques and the type of client and Help us achieve our goal.
NLP for sales:
so how can NLP help in business management and sales? It would be great to be able to get our clients to be as interested as in this image, right? NLP techniques can help us improve the way we negotiate, improve leadership and motivation to our commercial networks and, therefore, improve our orientation to achieve our sales objectives.

NLP is defined as EXCELLENCE IN COMMUNICATION, therefore, anyone who communicates well can sell more. Knowing how to manage emotions is another important point that we work from NLP.
How can you help with the business visit with the client?
The NLP has many techniques so we could adapt to our partner and generate a good match (connection line) and trust with the client. In this way, we will have many more possibilities to offer and comment on the different points of my product. Knowing how to detect which channel our client uses will facilitate our commercial work by offering what is important to HIM / HER.
The NLP works very well with the so-called visual client since this type of user preferably uses the visual representation system to represent reality through images. When they interpret, remember or express themselves, they form images in their mind. This helps them to sort and process the information properly. Therefore, using NLP techniques to speak their own representation language and structure a discourse that uses neurolinguistic programming will help connect with them and get their attention.
Applications:
a practical application of NLP for sales would be at a business meeting, where the produce/customer service are presented. Although not everyone puts it into practice, we know that sellers are recommended to speak less and listen more, paying attention to customer needs.
Well, the Neurolinguistics Programming tells us that we must identify how the client is with respect to us to adapt our speech and get to reach him or her. That is to say, we must identify if it is receptive to listen to what we have to tell it, if it distrusts, if it has its head elsewhere, if it is deliberating and reflecting on our proposal or if on the contrary, we have not yet managed to arouse interest.
If we reflect it well, it is something totally logical: what is the use of arriving at the meeting and releasing our speech in the same way to everyone, regardless of whether they are paying attention to us or not? It is clear that this could be done perfectly by a machine. However, people can modify the way we communicate, the "how", to empathize with our interlocutor.
First of all, we should identify the aspects of nonverbal communication that give us information about how the client feels about us. Next, we would apply the NLP techniques for sales, to achieve a receptive attitude that facilitates our commercial objective through a tone, gestures and appropriate words according to each case.
