Private Tour of Fife From Edinburgh

If time is short when visiting Scotland but you would like to visit more than just Edinburgh, then why not take a fantastic private tour of Fife.

Many people will jump at the chance of heading north to see Loch Ness or the mountains in Glencoe but it is a long day out. Instead, you can visit Fife which is located just across the Forth from Edinburgh. You don't have to travel far in Scotland to see different types of countryside, a stunning coastline, and some beautiful old villages.

1 Day Tour - Itinerary

This tour takes us to the village of South Queensferry for a close-up view of the impressive Forth Bridges. The Forth Railway Bridge is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We then cross the beautiful new Queensferry Crossing to Fife and make our way to Falkland Palace.

Built between 1501 and 1541, Falkland Palace is an architectural masterpiece and home to the oldest indoor royal tennis court in Britain. The village of Falkland has also featured in the hit TV series Outlander.

It’s just a short hop from Falkland to St Andrews – the home of golf, where you can watch players tee off on the first hole at the famous Old Course. There is much more to see in St Andrew’s including the British Golf Museum, the 12th-century cathedral and castle, historic buildings of Scotland’s oldest university and even two sandy beaches. You may even recognise the beach from the famous scene in the film 'Chariots of Fire'.

From St Andrews, we make our return to Edinburgh via the picturesque fishing villages of the East Neuk of Fife where you can treat yourself to an award-winning fish supper at Anstruther.

The Hairy Coo is a tour operator offering private tours of Scotland, and this is just 1 of our example tours. You can decide your own itinerary, tweak one of our suggested coach tours or take this tour exactly as suggested. It is always up to our customers. You may wish to include a walk along Elie beach if the weather is nice.
