People and Principles Behind ILDS

The International League of Dermatology Society (ILDS) is an independent and global charity. As the ILDS is registered under the English Law of charity, it works by the guidelines of the UK Charity Commission. The U.K. Secretariats have also supported the Board of Directors of ILDS.

Today the ILDS has more than 170 members and has been supporting over 200000 dermatologists from about 80 countries. The World Health Organization is a partner of the ILDS, and they both are working together to raise awareness, developing the guideline, research, and development in methods in the field of skincare and health.

Currently, the Board of Directors panel consists of-

Professor Lars French, President,

Professor Hassan Galadari, Secretary-General,

Professor Brigitte Dreno, Treasurer,

Dr. Claire Fuller, I.F.D. Chair, and other members from all over the world.

The International League of Dermatology Society was officially formed in 1935, after four summits of the Congress of Dermatology. The main objective of the ILDS was to gain all possible skincare and health for the people in the world. through this they can increase awareness about dermatology, setting up communication and cooperation between dermatology communities, globally

As society evolved and began to spread, it became essential for them to establish some principles, so that, the working and collaboration improve without any lack of communication or understanding. The International League of Dermatology Society works on various principles such as-

  • The Principle of Collaboration-

The principle of collaboration means to work in partnership with others. This indicates the collaborations that ILDS has with other organizations throughout the world. It is crucial to establish and maintain collaborations when you aim to achieve an international goal.

  • The Principe of Communication-

The principle of communication helps the league to maintain proper and effective communication with all of its associates and subjects. For an organization like ILDS, it is crucial to have effective communication, which can help them work efficiently on the global level.

  • The Principle of Evidence-

The principle of evidence is a collective representation of whatever the league does. The evidence reflects in the knowledge, practices, and awareness that the league has been spreading to the world. The efficiency and working of the league are represented by the responsibility they fulfill.

  • The Principle of Stewardship-

The principle of stewardship can be understood as the responsibility of understanding the priorities and making plans and doing management according to it. It is crucial for an organization as big as the league. To work on a global level, it is crucial to understand the responsibilities and working according to them.
